New Soviets Rolling Out To Join Team Yankee Next Year
December 12, 2016 by brennon
Alongside the release of the new Volksarmee Book and models for Team Yankee by Battlefront we should also expect to see some new packs of Soviet vehicles too!
Not only will you have the likes of the BRDM-2 Recon Platoon as you see above but some effective ways to take down both threats from the air and the land including the SA-9 Gaskin SAM Platoon...
...and the Spandrel AT Platoon.
All three are coming out during the release window which covers January and February and then they'll be on the tabletops shortly after. They are purposeful looking little vehicles with plenty of grit to them.
Will you be picking up some Soviet reinforcements for your East Germans?

More Soviet vehicles? I’ll take them. I’m passing on the Volks Armee to focus on my Soviet and Brit forces. Interesting that these new vehicles are marked up as Russian and not East German even though they are part of the VA release. Hopefully the future Soviet expansion book will have formation lists that include these.
Weren’t these vehicles shown as a VA preview at a show recently?
I may be mistaken, but it would mean the miniatures could be released for both, especially considering the release date.
a nice group of vehicle’s.
I am interested in the East German army as it really fleshes out the Warsaw Pact. I would love to see more depth for them and as @benc stated it is odd they are Soviet. Either way I have a pretty fleshed out American force and really want to put together more of a Warsaw Pact army and it will probably be a more mixed force.
I think they marked it as Soviet is because they are widely spread amongst the WP and not exclusive NVA. BF allready anounced “Red Thunder” which will be a Soviet expansion. With this we will see the BTR-60 which is in the lists for Volksarmee but curently not available as a kit.
didn’t see the red thunder info yet. thanks.
They talked about it at the “Iron Maiden” launch event. There was a vid where some guys from BF sat around a table and chatted about “what’s coming next”.
here it is…
