New Soviet Big Guns, Tanks & Officers In Plastic From Flames Of War
July 24, 2015 by brennon
Battlefront have been showing off some more of the plastic and resin models coming to Flames of War for the Soviets. Whether you are setting up for a meeting with other officers or wanting to blow apart the enemy position with tanks and artillery they have you covered over the next few weeks...
Staff Meeting
First up we have these awesome sets of miniatures for both your Soviet staff and Observers who have been cast in resin. They are incredibly well detailed and even come with a one piece plastic table which sits in the midst of them with maps and such atop it.
They would have done all of the figures in plastic but they believed that for these specialised miniatures they could work with resin instead. It certainly hasn't lost any of the detail that Battlefront have been working hard to achieve. These are SUCH a big step up from their existing metal models.
Plastic Boomsticks!
As well as the command options above there are some rather snazzy looking big guns and tanks too. See what you think of the new plastic models...
122mm obr 1938 Howitzer
Zis-3
IS-2
ISU-122
These are some really impressive plastic model kits and I particularly love the artillery and their crews. I think they've really pushed the boat out with the upcoming models across all their ranges and it shows a nice sign of growth for the game.
I'm sure there are some happy Soviet players out there.
What do you think?
"These are SUCH a big step up from their existing metal models..."
I have to say that I still think PSC is producing nicer stuff at better prices
…their stuff is awesome and the lady who I speak to on the phone is wonderful.
I agree – but their range is only throwing slowly compared to FoW content/options. My late Germans are a right mish-mash.
Wassup with auto correct this morning ‘ growing slowly’
…quality requires time. I don’t think they are as big as FoW – yet!
nice.
The ISU-122 is on my list. That is very nice, so it the IS-2. For me PSC guns are nicer, but I do like the crew figures. Next time I go on a spree…
Sure would like to see them release the guns in 28mm scale
…you 28mm guys need new toys too!
Great looking stuff. Funny how BF have come around to hard plastic after mocking it initially. I believe we have PSC and Zvezda to thank for that. Great to see so many neat sculpts and kits coming out for core units and the resin ‘specials’ are fine too.
I have become a massive fan of Zvezda – great prices and with a little work the kits are awesome.
