Roll Out New Tank Troops & Infantry For Flames Of War 4th Edition
May 3, 2017 by brennon
Flames Of War welcomes some new Tank Troops for you to snap up for both the British and the Germans as you battle it out on the sands of Africa.
First up we have this Grant Armoured Troop which is trundling into town for the British to use in battle. Their guns and armour were a match for the Panzers of the German army and despite being rushed into service they performed well on the field of battle.
Next up for the British, we have the Crusader Armoured Troop which gives you a faster set of tanks to play around with.
Because of their lighter armour and guns, they were often tasked with scouting and reconnaissance missions. When paired with the Grants that you saw above they made for quite the fighting force on the tabletop.
German Panzers & Platoons
Following up on the German side of the war in Africa we have the Panzer III Tank Platoon.
This was the standard, mainstay tank of the German army and you'll need quite a few of these if you're looking to put together a larger army.
While it wasn't mentioned elsewhere all of these tanks come in plastic and there is an assembly guide on the back of the box to help you put them together in the right way!
You might also find yourself needing some infantry to support your advance across the tabletop. The Germans are getting the Afrika Korps Rifle Platoon for just that...
According to the blurb after suffering heavy casualties at Tobruk the German army cut down on the size of their platoons and organised them more strictly. However, these fighting forces were still mean as all hell and could deal with tanks and work away from the main force if needed.
This platoon is made up of grizzled veterans and comes with artillery, mortars, rifles, and other anti-tank weapons making them a force to be reckoned with.
What do you think?
"This platoon is made up of grizzled veterans and comes with artillery, mortars, rifles, and other anti-tank weapons making them a force to be reckoned with..."
Those seem like nice boxed sets to pick up.
I do love the Crusader. Not the best tank, but by eck it looked cool!
a great way to get numbers up quick.
