At the heart of the releases is this new book which covers Hungarian, Romanian and Finnish forces which were fighting on the Eastern Front as Germany's allies. The Romanians were there holding off the first Soviet attack by the second offensive rolled over them. The Finns were also fighting the steamroller that was the Soviet war machine before eventually relenting and then all eyes turned on the Hungarians who were left.
When the Red Army defeated their foes, the forces in question did end up changing sides but you can play out these clashes against the Soviets to see if you can change history. Following these threads should lead to some fun wargaming moments and chances to try something different on the tabletop.
There are miniatures for a lot of the forces coming up but you've also got this Hungarian Starter Force which is themed for the setting and this particular theatre of war.

With the massive Soviet army descending on the Hungarians you can maybe play out those moments around Budapest and the gruelling 100 days that the struggle lasted. June and July will see miniatures getting released for the various factions. The team at Battlefront are starting with the Finnish in June followed by the Hungarians and Romanians throughout June and into July.
Are you tempted to pick up these Axis-Allies as they seek to take on The Red Army?

Oh cool. Not a FoW player but I really like the Hungarian tanks (I have a half assed plan for 28mm Hungarians).
A great looking armoured vehicles unit.
Good to see some variety rather than a rerelease of the main powers ?
Had my hungarians waiting patiently for the release of these. Missed playing them so much
