Head Down The River With New Panzergrenadiers For FoW
March 22, 2014 by brennon
Heading up the smaller scale of World War II warfare we have a look at some additional troops for Flames of War. Not only do we have new Panzergrenadiers but also a Type 41 75mm Infantry Gun and Type 38 75mm Infantry Gun. Of course this wouldn't be complete without some terrain to play on...
First up above we have the Panzergrenadiers which mechanises your infantry by giving them a selection of half-tracks to get them where they are needed as quickly as possible.
On the other side of the world we have some interesting developments between the Russians and the Japanese with these additional field guns for laying down covering fire and pounding enemy positions.
One the terrain side of things we have the River Bends and River Fords which look awesome and can be used pretty much right out of the box. These pieces are fantastic for getting a game sorted as quickly as possible and come with the added flock you need to give them that extra bit of character.
Will you be grabbing these for Flames of War?
There is no reason now to be scared of starting FOW. With more and more plastics coming out the fear of working with tiny metals and resin are gone… There are American sets coming out in plastic in the near future so it’s not just Germans getting the love.
Now only fear its the British…but they would only need their infantry sculpted as the half track is the same as the US one.
On a side note the new Italy books are just full of win if any one is interested I’ll explain more in other posts….
Must admit I found it easier to paint the plastic figures from the open fire box set than the metal figures.Really would like to see the British Infantry, being done.
Please tell on the new Italy books any TLC for the British, and how does it stack up against the other books?
The AOP for the Allies has the same rule as the Market Garden RAF controller… that is a huge one, and they also have combined arty rules for all the allies… everyone spots for every one… One thing that is good is the FireFly is still AT 15 in this book there where worries that it would revert to the 13 of the early version. Erm anything else that stands out, Oh the books themselves look different from previous books (that and they have an updated battlefront logo on the spine) they look amazing as books. Churchill Tanks are also… Read more »
Lovely plastics, with decently proportioned troops.
They appear much more detailed than there metal counterparts. They must be brought into the 505 Pz Abt.
I mean their.
The new panzergrenadiers look nice details wise, but I do miss the kneeling/crouching/hunched poses that the metal ones had. The new ones are quite similar to all other plastic 15mm Germans at the market when it comes to the poses, when they are all standing tall with both feet firmly at the ground. Still, nice models.
my Panzergrenadiers army is all done now and thay bring this 1 out 🙁 ooooooooo well I got my welsh to do next
I’m naturally intrigued about the new Italy books… I’ve recently picked up some Churchill III’s and IV (NA75) sets for a respectable discount….
I already assume that the new books will be really great, considering the great things I’ve seen in the Normandy and Market Garden volumes….
The Churchill list representing the North Irish etc are amazing lots of Inf tanks backed up by Shermans… something really cool about that list
