German Tank Hunters Roll Out To Stop The Soviets In Flames Of War
July 16, 2015 by brennon
Two new vehicle kits have popped up from Battlefront for Flames of War this week. With the Soviets pushing towards the gates of Berlin the Germans are rolling out the big tank hunters with both the Waffentrager and Kleinpanzer Wanze looking to blow up some armour...
Waffentrager
First up we have a set of three tank hunters each with guns that look like they should be firing at range, not straight down at an enemy tank across the battlefield.
While they look impressive it's not entirely sure how many of these saw action as they were developed right at the end of the war period. Some were spotted and noted to have been destroyed in Berlin however so they do fit in with the current conflict.
Try them out and see if they work for you in defending the city.
Kleinpanzer Wanze
On a slightly smaller scale when it comes to guns we have these tanks for the Germans too.
These tanks were designed for close quarters street fighting against armour. Each of them was outfitted with a bank of rockets and the vehicle itself could quickly dart in and out of cover to fire it's payload before retreating to reload.
Quite a funky looking little vehicle and something closer to a Sci-Fi tank than a Historical one in design.
Will you be bolstering the German defences?

He might – the tank hunters are brilliant. Not a FoW player, but their models are always beautiful.
Those are good as can be expect from Battlefront.
…for 15mm it’s excellent. A few others do 15mm really well – PSC rule the universe in 15mm, but that’s just my taste. With a good coat of paint those 15mm Zvezda models are a fine additions to an army.
are they official tanks or field commissioned alterations to damaged tanks never seen them before, love the waffenpanzer 88s
Prototypes and desperate last gap measures thrown to the fire.
Someone will answer that…where is Piers when you need him?
