Amazing! Congrats on the win Warren! Sounds like you guys had a great time!
Totally agree with you guys. Tournaments can be amazing to see people from other areas (got several mates I only get to see at these things), different play styles and tactics and get loads of games of your fav system played in a short space of time. If the players you face are there for a laugh and all that it can be a real treat. However…. There are always that small minority of players who there there just for the wins with real cheese lists who stretch the rules as far as they can. In normal club nights they’re… Read more »
Just a bit of day drinking is all you need to win.
Thats how I do it 😀
Though it isn’t for everyone and you must be carefull 😀
Lot’s of mention of “great opponent” – which was exactly my experience of the one tournament I played in – and I’ll definitely do more.
Congrats on the wins, both(!) – now what places did you come in?
seemed like you guys had a right laugh. Well done on winning your final game!
Well done! Watching you two prepare for this tournament has given me the push to attend my first one in Feb (Bushido). The problem is I’ve never actually played a game yet 🙂
go for it 🙂
You will only learn, so it’s a worthwhile thing to do!
And another aspect to this I haven’t mentioned, but it applies specifically to smaller games, is by participating in thier events YOU are helping to grow and foster a community for the game.
And good games deserve that!
I think certain game systems attract certain players. Happy to hear Flames of War is one of the fun ones.
It’s grest to hear on how you performed, guys! Congrats to both of you!
I never was interested in tournament plya but now I feel like trying it one day. There’s not a lot where I come from, though…
The last 40K tourney I attended I went 0 for 3, but my opponents liked playing against me for my sportsmanship so I count that as a win. 🙂
Warren and Dave, let me be completely clear here, YOU guys, and you guys alone are guilty of bringing me back to Wargaming, mainly due to PHENOMENAL work BOW does with weekenders and unboxing and battle reps but the ultimate winner is FOW-FTW and now the series of vlogs. They are honest, fun, informative and super cool to watch. Because of Dave I’m building up a Finn army and because of Darren I bought 12 Stugs to have fun….you are amazing and even far away from you guys in Brazil you made this fan a new gamer. Backstage is not… Read more »
That was an awesome series of videos! 🙂
Great work guys! YOU WON SOME GAMES!
Congratz @warzan a win!
I share your view on tourneys
Awesome series! Congrats to both of you.
Fantastic run of videos, its been great having you both share your experience with us, thank you for letting us come along for the journey!
Guys thanks for bringing the AAR’s so quick this week, really great to watch.
Warren well done on the win, glad you both liked the tournament, looking forward to the next episode of FoWFTW.
Personally I have no interest in tournaments, but these videos have been fun to watch. I usually find battle reports way too long and boring but a five-minute recap is good and would be even better if was accompanied with edited game footage or diagrams.
Awesome set of videos guys.
Congratulations on ending the tournament on a high Warren.
Any chance we can see a battle between Warren and Dave with their GT armies?
Thanks @cobblett!
And yes indeed to the game, myself and Dave have discussed this very thing!
Clash of the Titans!
Let battle commence:).
Guys sounded like lots of fun. Hope my first organized play is this cool.
On an old note you had talked about the Glider units used on D-Day and during operation Market Garden. I was talking with my dad he was attached to a Glider unit as late as 1988 at Fort Benning.
