Flames Of War Heads To The Pacific & New Team Yankee Plastics!
December 28, 2023 by brennon
Battlefront Miniatures had even more information for those wanting to dive into some 15mm Historical warfare on the tabletop in Flames Of War. 2024 is going to be pretty big and a large feature of it is going to be a move to the Pacific theatre and a clash between the Americans and the Japanese.

A new book is on the way covering the clashes in the Pacific in 1942-1943. This will get you stuck into more of those brutal conflicts happening in the East and to aid in getting you started with that, there will be a range of army deals. You'll be able to get your hands on miniatures for the Japanese...

...and also the US Marines. Both will be ready to go and should be great for those seeking to get started in this particular theatre of war.
US Marine Army Deal // Flames Of War
As well as the classic clash between the Japanese and the US, there is also going to be another contender for you to consider. You will also be able to pick up a set featuring miniatures for the British in the Far East. I could see this being very popular with folks!

Battlefront also announced that the Battlefield In A Box range will also be coming back to support this fight in the Pacific. So, you'll have all of the miniatures that you need and the terrain for setting up your games.
New D-Day Army Deals
As well as the new trip to the Pacific, there are also going to be a range of D-Day Army Deals for those looking to dive into the fighting back in Europe.
Panzer Lehr Division // Flames Of War
21 Panzerdivision // Flames Of War
These boxes have been made to match up with the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. They are Normandy-themed armies that have been updated with new plastics or remastered miniatures from the Battlefront range as well as a few extra goodies. As you can see, there are some great options for the Germans...
2nd Armored Division // Flames Of War
7th Armoured Division // Flames Of War
...but also the Americans and the British as well. Storm into Normandy and push for Paris with these upcoming Late-War army deals. Much like with other Army Deals from Battlefront Miniatures, these seem primed to be good entry points into Flames Of War for those not already involved. They could also be a good way for you to bolster a nation that you don't already have an army for.
New Plastics For Team Yankee!
As well as the news for Flames Of War, there was also an announcement for Team Yankee. New plastic infantry is on the way for you to slot into your Cold War Gone Hot armies.

Throughout 2024, you're going to be able to get your hands on new plastic infantry for the Soviets and the Americans in Team Yankee. This is going to be pretty darn welcome for a lot of folks and from the sneak peeks at the sprues above, it seems like there is plenty of detail in the sculpts.
Plastic Soviet Infantry // World War III: Team Yankee
We got a look at two sprues for the Soviets and then some renders for the Americans that are going to be joining them. Hold off the Soviet invasion in style!
Plastic American Infantry // World War III: Team Yankee
This is also just the beginning according to Battlefront Miniatures. If they've got a good solution for Team Yankee then perhaps we'll see this plastic range expand to feature new miniatures for the other periods they cover.
Make sure to check out the video from Battlefront Miniatures for more news on what's coming!

Looks like my pile of shame is about to become bigger. Considerably bigger.
Those D-Day sets in particular look fantastic.
The plastic infantry for team Yankee look good. Excited for the Pacific! My grandfather fought in New Guinea and the Philippines.
It’s almost like Canada didn’t have its own beach at D-Day, nor was the only army to accomplish all its day one objectives.
“Lumberjack rule” is still a solid reason to never touch the crap the BF makes.
Certainly agree Canadians shouldn’t be left out. However, BF is clearly trying to sell boxes tied to famous armored divisions. Allows them to include lots of shiny tanks. Canada only had an armored brigade present on D-Day. Realistically, if they wanted to provide boxes faithful to D-Day action instead of Panzer Lehr and 21st Panzer they should have the 352nd Infantry Division and 91st Luftlandeing Division or other infantry divisions but we all know those won’t sell as well. We the consumers dictate their choices. If we all bought and played infantry forces you’d see a national box for each… Read more »
What’s the Lumberjack Rule?
I have a Canadian force that works D-Day through the rest of the war. Not going to get many Canada specific boxes, but at the heart of mine is a couple of bundled british boxes supported by some US models – adapted to the Canadian style of course…
I would certainly expect these Pacific armies to be more infantry based forces, playing on tight boards with limited LoS etc for tanks.
