Flames of War: Building Normandy VLOG [Part Eight]
May 24, 2019 by lloyd
In this VLOG Lloyd gives us the lowdown on the high hedges which are characteristic of the bocage landscape of Normandy.

Building out a boot-camps worth of bocage need not break the bank with Lloyd's handy household re-purposing remedies.
Safety Note:
When you use Super Glue / CA Glue with Clump Foliage you get a chemical reaction that creates heat. Be careful not to get Super Glue / CA Glue on your skin and then stick Clump Foliage to it as it can burn the skin with the heat created.
How do you like the look of Lloyd's bush?
A vlog of @Lloyd trimming his bush(es)…I am on the right site aren’t i ?
Cracking vid,it’s always good to see @Lloyd in terrain mode ( i have said it before, but it’s true ).
there’s another layer of clump foilage to on on top of mine it should be roughly the same height as the bank
That bocage is looking well, both the resin and the homemade stuff. Hairspray will give you a quick and cheap way to seal your clump foliage at the end if you are really worried about it. Just don’t do it when the PVA is wet. A few small trees here and there would add a little bit of height and realism to it as well.
Do you want to finger that John, see what it feels like. Its like a hard lump isn’t it @Lloyd
We were all witnesses John! Call HR
I think we all agree with you @Lloyd, the more humps, the better…
a brilliant looking way to get personal on the terrain.
Just a wee add to your safety warning, superglue and cotton together will cause a exothermic reaction and depending on the glue the heat given off can be significant. So if you are using cotton wool and gluing it with superglue or you are wearing jeans and spill glue on them, just be careful as the potential is there to burn.
Well that’s boring ?. You will be telling us next not to use hotwire polystyrene cutters inside with the windows closed
I am a fairly boring person, though I have been known to live dangerously and clean a resin model without a dust mask or lick models if I can’t get the superglue to stick. The tongue, nature’s superglue activator 🙂
Thanks for the added Warning:
Be careful with using super glue / ca glue on sponge clump foliage, it creates a chemical reaction creating heat. Later that night I managed to burn a couple of finger ends for the first time using super glue, as I got some of the clump foliage on the tips and that’s where they heated up.
Will talk about it on Monday blog. It’s surprising just how many things react to the glue.
I felt my leg heat up where I spilled superglue on a pair of trousers I was wearing years ago and I did look it up after that. It is the cellulose in the cotton that reacts with the glue causing the reaction but that is as far as my brain understands the science behind it.
Missed this last night but watched Normany doc last night instead.
Cool borage!
Put Artillery battery in the castle, Ala easy company.
Nice one, when you did the cut and spray first, your tables looked good.
Now you’ve up’t your game by doing this to it. lovely job.
It’s missing trees, bocage is also made of load of trees.
