Alas I don't think that Ratty and Mole would enjoy boat trip much. Both the PAVN and the Americans have got themselves some boat teams ready to both attack and defend along the length of these muddy waterways...

While the Patrol Boats might be more heavily armed with machine guns the strength of the Local Resistance boats is that they can pop up anywhere and need to be checked to see if they are hostile. You could get ambushed by one of those Sampan Boats before you even realise what is happening.

Not That Type Of SEAL!

Hitting the mud with some boots on the ground you also have the Navy SEALs getting stuck in. This specialist unit were masters of silent warfare and could sneak in, steal intel and more, and then vanish without you ever knowing they were there. Perfect soldiers for use in the jungles of Vietnam...

As well as coming with their general assortment of rifles they can also bring shotguns, grenade launchers and a heavy machine gun to the battlefield too giving them a few more options on the tabletop.
