Head To The Eastern Front Soon With Flames Of War Starter Sets

The team at Battlefront Miniatures are going to be heading to the Eastern Front soon with a brand new sourcebook for Flames Of War and some new Starter Sets to get you going as either the Soviets or the Germans.
Stalingrad Starter Set // Flames Of War
Shop Flames Of War @ Store.OnTableTop
Leading the way is the Stalingrad Starter Set. This is designed like their North Africa sets in that it comes with everything two players need to get started in Flames Of War. As well as fighting in the ruins of blasted Stalingrad, you can also take to Kursk if you prefer.
Kursk Starter Set // Flames Of War
Both of these have been designed to give you options with Flames Of War. Do you want to play a Tank List or would you prefer to explore the options presented by Infantry? Either way, they make 100-point armies right out of the box and are all plastic, making them quick and easy to assemble.
It's awesome to see Battlefront providing options for both styles of players in Flames Of War. As a big fan of infantry, it's good to see them getting a run out in the streets of Stalingrad!
New Eastern Front Battalions & Companies
As well as the new Starter Sets that offer up entry points into Eastern Front World War II wargaming, there are also some new options for both the Soviets and the Germans battling it out. You can go infantry heavy or vehicle heavy.
Iron Cross - Grenadier Company // Flames Of War
Ghost Panzers - Mixed Panzer Company // Flames Of War
If you so desired, you could probably end up getting both of these sets to give you pretty much all of the infantry and vehicles that you could use for battling it out on the Eastern Front. There are some special miniatures that you'll see later but these are pretty nifty as a starting point.
Enemy At The Gates - Hero Rifle Battalion // Flames Of War
Red Banner - T-34 Tank Battalion // Flames Of War
I like this approach to Flames Of War that we're seeing from Battlefront Miniatures. We're getting solid options for infantry fans and vehicle lovers. I do love seeing the masses of 15mm infantry that you get in Flames Of War charging through tightly-packed streets.
Eastern Front Mid-War Forces Book
As a bonus, there will also be the new Eastern Front book that will include all of the new information you need to play out your battles.
Eastern Front - Mid-War Forces // Flames Of War
This tome will come with rules for playing as the Soviets and Germans during the Mid-War period and weighs in at an impressive 364 pages. There are also going to be additional supplements covered in this book for the Finnish, Romanians, and Hungarians.

Previous Flames Of War releases like Enemy At The Gates, Iron Cross, Ghost Panzers and Red Banner have also been reworked and replaced by the rules present within this book.
More Eastern Front Miniatures
As well as the two main boxed sets, you will also be able to pick up additional kits. We've got two of them here but more on the way of course!
KV-5 Tank Company // Flames Of War
Dicker Max Tank-Hunter Platoon // Flames Of War
Plenty of big and nasty tanks are going to be rolling onto the battlefield for the Soviets and the Germans. I wouldn't like to be on the other end of the Dicker Max or KV-5! Are you tempted to snap up these new kits for your Flames Of War games?
Let me know in the comments below!

Great to see Battlefront continue the pattern of releasing some excellent value starter kits and moving on to a different theatre following their Mid War Desert releases
Ooh nice big shooty tanks.
at the exact moment I’m re-examining my possible army lists … they do this ?
I like what they did for North Africa, so I’m pretty sure I will like this one too.
Let’s hope there’s plenty of infantry in those sets.
I can’t wait for these to come out. It seems like everything Battlefront puts out I have to have, even if I already have more models than I “need”. Looking forward to the breakdown.
The Eastern Front, everyone’s secretly favourite meat grinder – your dropping shells on Nazis? Crimson Commissars? Who cares? Blast them all guilt free ?
Pretty much, two regimes headed by two equally nasty personages
the big tanks look a good extra for forces.
Well don’t buy more than one blister of the Dicker Max tanks. There were only ever two prototypes fielded (and one caught fire early on in 41 so not sure how much combat that one actually saw). As for the KV 5, that one never got off the drawing board. At least all the other releases here were actually existed in any numbers (although I see the German forces have the Battlefront ever present 88mm in the selection (they did use other anti-tank guns you know Battlefront). Although not sure what the Russian player can do with the BA 64… Read more »
