Grab The Desert Rat British & Head Into Flames Of War

Battlefront Miniatures has now released the British Starter Force for Flames Of War. If you're getting stuck into a Historical D-Day Campaign then you might want to snap up the Desert Rats Squadron.
Start A Flames Of War Army @ Store.OnTableTop
Here is a bit of background on the Desert Rats and how they might be deployed in-game...
"The armoured squadron is the strike force of the British Army. With their exceptionally fast Cromwell tanks, the ‘Desert Rats’ have the ability to rapidly strike the enemy rear area and relentlessly pursue the slower enemy forces. This speed allows the armoured squadron to continually work around to the weaker flanks of enemy formations, always striking from the side rather than slogging their way up the middle."
This does sound like an exceptionally fun little starter force that you can deploy onto the tabletop. It comes laden down with Cromwell tanks and you've then got extra fire support from a band of Fireflys and Crocodile tanks too. I am thankful that you do also get some infantry in the set too, the forgotten element of many a Flames Of War army.
Everything is included as part of these starter forces with rules, models, cards for the particular troops/tanks/artillery options. With it all being in plastic it also works really nicely as a way to get stuck into Flames Of War for the first time; nice and easy to assemble.
So, if you're a fan of Flames Of War and playing as the plucky British then this is a good way to get started!

That is a nice big starter set, a lot of plastic for the asking price.
I do have a soft spot for Cromwells and Churchills and then there’s the cute little Stuarts and carriers (well little next to the Cromwells)
I don’t remember ever seeing the m10s before, but that open turret seems like the weird design decision I like.
I believe the m10’s were called Achilles in British service and I think you get the option to arm them with 17pdr guns. they have no armor to speak of but then again, most allied late war tanks the armor is a 5/6/7 and most German AT is 14 so no point spending extra points on this. just remember that it’s got a powerful gun so even a pz iv can easily kill it.
M10 Wolverine is the US version. The Achilles was the British variant
Well Achilles sounds a lot more like the British naming standard.
It all gets a bit muddled once the different countries starts borrowing each others designs and spare parts from different vehicles gets mcgyvered together.
Nice starter set
a fabulous starter box.
