Rumble across the desert with some brand new tanks and other vehicles from Battlefront Miniatures for Flames Of War. The British and the Germans have some new options for use during your World War II wargames.

Leading the way, we have the Churchill GC 3-inch Gun Troop that is ready to support your infantry on the tabletop. They could be used as an opponent to the German Tiger that had found its way onto the battlefields of Tunisia.
Following on from the Churchill, we also have another big and heavy piece of armour to throw onto the tabletop. Here we have the TOG 2 Armoured Troop.

"The Old Gang" is a mix of the old and the new. It uses classic design techniques from earlier in the war and then combines it with what's needed during the war in the desert. This is very much taking the idea of a landship and making it a reality. You wouldn't want to show off your side to your enemies considering the length of this thing!
We move away from heavy tanks and instead look to scouting vehicles next. Here is the Boarhound Armoured Car Troop.

A lot of folks wanted to get their hands on these during World War II and their success on the battlefield had the army clamouring for more. However, high production costs meant that only thirty of them were ever delivered. I really like Armoured Cars as they always feel like the closest to more modern military vehicles. Plus, they are fast!
Now, a little bit of a mix of both American and British goodness. Here we have the T14 Armoured Assault Troop.
T14 Armoured Assault Troop // Flames Of War
Combining the need for a new assault vehicle and a heavier tank, this vehicle was very handy for both the British and the US during World War II. The T14 was a mix of both American and British engineering and was able to fulfil both needs. It was a handy option to have in the back pocket for the Allies.
New German Vehicles
As well as the British and the US, we also have some options for the Germans that are taking them to task on the sands of the desert.
15cm Bison Infantry Gun Platoon // Flames Of War
You can use the 15cm Bison Infantry Gun Platoon to support your forces as they rush forward into battle. This vehicle was used as a quicker support option thanks to the lighter gun. It could keep up with the infantry advance and provide fire where it was needed, moving from spot to spot. It was very handy for heavy close support.
Last but not least, we have the Tiger (P) Heavy Tank Platoon. Phwoar...
Tiger (P) Heavy Tank Platoon // Flames Of War
These tanks were deadly and the air-cooled engines made them well suited to the desert conditions. They were armed with deadly guns capable of punishing tanks, artillery support and dug-in infantry units. It was also pretty agile for such a big tank but suffered from being unreliable and couldn't keep up with some of the faster tanks. Still, it's a Tiger. It's a big, mean, killing machine.
Are you going to be picking up these new releases for Flames Of War?

I’m no expert (evidently) but I could claim to recognise the Churchill and Tiger, if not those exact variants. The rest could well have been Weird World War as far as I knew though.
Goodonyer Battlefront for releasing these rarities. I hope you’re well rewarded with sales.
Now I need to find more about the Boarhound. Specifically did it make it to Normandy and beyond, and is there a 28mm one anywhere? I suspect no to the former and consequently less interest in the latter.
Wikipedia says North Africa only. Shame.
British gear in the desert campaign looks so much cooler than our later stuff, while being even worse. Crusader in particular and now this. Oh well.
Ooh battle of the experimental’s nice.
Some interesting looking vehicles there
With all the real vehicles that they could be making, instead they make these fantasy tanks. Seems an odd choice, but they do seem to be in bed with World of Tanks these days so maybe that explains it?
these are apparently some of the mid-war monsters that they had in v2 of the rules …
Not exactly ‘new’.
There’s only so many Panzer 3’s and 4’s one can make at this scale.
Adding a few oddball oddities isn’t going to hurt anyone.
And it’s not like you can field a ton of these completely optional wildcard units.
Been patiently waiting the re-release of Mid-War Monster models.
