The British Prepare For World War III With Battlefront Miniatures
February 7, 2020 by brennon
It's now time to roll into battle for World War III as Battlefront Miniatures have released a bunch of new kits for the Team Yankee collection. We start with the British Starter Force which comes with a healthy collection of tanks, support vehicles and helicopters for use as air support.
The set is a pretty insane kit which features all sorts of epic looking tanks and much more too. Here is the list of vehicles you actually get within this set Five Challenger Tanks, Two Chieftain Tanks, Two Warrior with Milan Anti-tank Vehicles, Two Scimitar or Scorpion Light Tanks, Four Fox Armoured Cards, Two MLRS Rocket Launchers, Two plastic Lynx helicopters and of course you also get all of the bits and bobs you need to play the game too.
Armoured Options
As well as the options within the Starter Set there are also some great new vehicles being added in if you'd like to expand things even further.
Challenger Armoured Troop
Fox Recce Troop
M109 Artillery Battery
M270 MLRS Battery
Warrior Platoon
As you'll have no doubt noted, some of the options here are not just for the British. The allied force that were clashing with the Soviets during this hypothetical period of warfare were able to share their technology and drop them into the mix across all manner of different frontiers.
Whilst a lot of the focus has been on the fighting throughout Europe I imagine it would be rather epic to actually fight across the Middle-East too!
What do you think of these new options for the British and beyond?

I’ll likely never play it, but I want it all!
How many have John Brought?
Stay tuned to find out
A Great starters box.
I’ll definitely be grabbing this
The Challenger 1s And Warrior MCVs would be interested painted in desert colors for a Desert Storm / Operation Granby force. Any takers? My Team Yankee / Desert Storm Marines are done and I’m almost done with my Iraqi OPFOR. I knew about British M109 Paladins (admittedly a pretty small force of A2s/A3s until sold off in the mid 90s). Ran across some photos of these in my Gulf War research. Regarding M270 MLRS: I honestly don’t know how many of these were purchased, the force today stands at about 40. No more NATO flags on boxes ?
Or are the M109 and MLRS too specific for the listed countries ?
(oh … and yay Dutch flag )
All the new boxes will show what nations the models are available in game. much better than the previous way which of course was because of the rolling out of new nations. 🙂 They are really making it better for our FLGS.
By all the bits needed to play does that include the WWIII rulebook?
Five Challenger Tanks
Two Chieftain Tanks
Two Warrior with Milan Anti-tank Vehicles
Two Scimitar or Scorpion Light Tanks
Four Fox Armoured Cards,
Two, MLRS Rocket Launchers
Two plastic Lynx helicopters
Eight rare-earth magnets
Four decal sheets
One Complete A5 Rulebook,
One British “Start Here Booklet”
Eleven Unit cards
One set of Death Or Glory Tokens
Thanks
Does anyone know if the cards for 1st edition are still valid? I know the rule book was redone for 2nd edition. I’m still trying to source a copy locally. I mostly went for US and Canada for a ‘Red Dawn’ style Soviet invasion of Alaska.
All fully compatible. Think the rules where more tidying up/ sorting a few niggles . And most of the nations are still a year from getting new toys so would be mean if not:)
Loving this. As soon as its available from uk webstores I’m all over this. British armour from the 80’s is where my head’s at at yhe moment. So much so that I will be breaking my 2020 embargo on new minis for it.
It’s on the OTT store, so ordered!
Great set! Loving the Warriors and the Challengers
Hi boys and girls…thats looking sweet… what other rules sets do we have or are coming out to use these 15mm figures… Its just I hate the “tanks bunched up” effect in TY. I tried watching battles on youtube but its like a comedy watching a herd of tanks…..
I know what you mean. I only play with the one mate of mine, and we are of the same mind – we think tank car parks look stupid, so we don’t bring them to the table. If you are going to get into the competitive scene though it does seem that for many players bringing the “optimal build” trumps how sensible the force looks. Sticking with smaller points values for games may be a solution, otherwise, it’s just picking your opponents carefully. It’s not the ruleset that forces you to take tank parks, its the players’ choice.
This looks like a good buy and its all in plastic. Far too many projects before this that needs to get done.
