The British Prepare More Heavy Weapons For Flames Of War

Battlefront Miniatures are expanding upon their Flames Of War collection with lots more infantry-based elements. We start with a larger selection in the Parachute Company which is packed full of different weapon options.

These elite looking soldiers would have dropped behind enemy lines and got stuck in destroying the defences across the Normandy coast. Aiding them in this endeavour, you've got all manner of options like SMG Teams, Bren Guns, SMLE Rifle Teams, PIAT Teams, a Two-Inch Mortar Team and also Bren Guns for good measure.
I tend to say this quite a lot but I think that Flames Of War benefits from having more infantry in it. The tanks are cool of course but it's always nice to see the soldiers that did a lot of the fighting and securing of objectives in the mix doing their thing.
Additional Options
As well as the Parachute Company which acts as a good starting point for the infantry arm of your invasion force, you've also got a bunch of additional kits too. Here is a rundown of what is available from Battlefront Miniatures right now...
Airborne 75mm Light Troop
Airborne 3-inch Mortar Platoon
Airborne Vickers Machine-Gun Platoon
These provide you with specific additional options for your Flames Of War force. I particularly like the options for the classic Vickers and the Light Troops who are going to be wheeling some of those smaller artillery pieces into play so that they can blast apart their enemies.
The Airborne options for the British will give you a good skirmishing force that is able to take command of objectives and hold them with sheer grit.
Are you tempted to pick up some of these models for your collection?

A Great set of models to add to airborne unit’s.
Its a pity the poses are all the same on the support weapons like the piats, howitzers, mortars etc
Nice little sets though.
Looking good, this might be the in I have been looking for.
Great models, bet those boys in a Bridge to Far wished they had more of those 75mm cannons for support.
QUESTION FOR ALL YOU FLAMES OF WAR FANS
I know this is how game companies work, but I would love to see Flames of War publish more scenarios books and campaign books than just update the same Theaters over and over again. I believe I have three different versions of war in the east books. What I would love is awesome scenarios to play or linked campaigns. What does everyone think??????
the old firestorm….narration and market Garden can still be used…just modified a bit. same with the ones online….unless deleted. they are out there somewhere
I need to know how much of this loveliness is usable in a Canadian force… hurry up with either the book or the online forcesofwar data BF!
….and time to start the happy dance.. finally more troops
