New Bridge Mat Set From Battlefront to Set Your Scene
July 5, 2014 by stvitusdancern
We recently saw Battlefront release their Bridge at Remagen sourcebook for Flames of War, and they have now brought scenery to table to really capture the essence of the battle. The Remagen Bridge Mat Set is a great addition to your table for the newest sourcebook, but also for any scene you are trying to stage with a river involved.
The set comes with a River Rhine Mat (48"/120cm x 18"/45cm) and 3 bridge overlays to place on the mat and change out as your game progresses. There is one intact bridge overlay, one damaged bridge overlay and one destroyed bridge overlay.
I think we can all agree that it's nice to get terrain pieces that can be used in a variety of campaigns, and with this, we can do just that.
Will you be crossing the River Rhine on your table top?
Ordered this a couple of days ago when it appeared on the BF webstore, had been looking for exactly this type of large river for Pegasus Bridge and then I picked up the Remegen book and that sealed the deal, I already have the D-Day beach which is the same type of mat and it was a fantastic buy the detail from the print is extremely good and it’s a very durable material so I have high hopes for this.
I agree with what Gianna says about using these in multiple campaigns. No matter the genre or the era, people are always fighting over bridges. Even high sci-fi where units are always flying around and bridges seem superfluous, support vehicles for the sci-fi army are often written as ground-based. Then there is civilian and commercial traffic, which would make bridges important objectives even in a “grav tank” battle.
I ordered at the start of July, it is not due to be delivered until the end of August!
