Breakthough Assault Do Video Preview Of Team Yankee Book
November 4, 2015 by brennon
The previews of Team Yankee from Breakthrough Assault have begun again this week as they not only took a look inside the book via the video above, but also showed off the HIND Kit in plastic.
Below you can see the HIND kit in all its glory. Interestingly they have tried to make the model out of as few components as possible. I guess when your normal range features a lot of single piece miniatures this is something you'd be hoping to achieve for the hobbyists who follow you.
When it comes to the book Team Yankee seems like a rather plush hard back product. The layout looks good within the book and as they flick through the pages you can see a preview of what kind of things you'll be expected to learn when the game comes out.
They also have a rather comprehensive painting section towards the back of the book which is always welcome, especially with historical games.
What do you think?

Battlefront really have increased their production quality on this. Haven’t seen hardcover a4 as often before. And the pages “sounded” really thick, so seems like really good qualitiy here. From the rules it seems to be quite streamlined and a few of the hick-ups from normal FoW seem to be taken care of. Also it looks like quite a complete kit. I hope this is more to involve new players and don’t mean there will be no expansions and other countries down the road. At least for a while. Now I only need to get my hands on one… where… Read more »
Around Poole and Bournemouth way I’ll race ya…
More seriously thou, I was on the fence initially about team Yankee, some still depends on if my gaming group decide to pick any up but its looking good. I’m glad to see the rule book has army lists and some basic paint guides and looks like a nice product. Well laid out with clear diagrams etc. I love my WW2 flames but some cold war gone hot might make a nice change of pace, the plastic minis look very good too
looks like a good quality informative rule book with plenty of colour pictures.
Nice looking book….But 80`s modern war is not my thing… Now if it was Tom C`s End war, that would sell it to me… Look forward to some videos
I’ll look at this once the British are involved. I think that this game will be the breakthrough modern ruleset which will hook me, but i need the emotional attachment of the UK forces and this will take time as it will not be the priority for a long time.
From what Battlefront have said, British will be the next major release after the US and Soviets in the first wave.
That should happen in the first half of next year, although they haven’t confirmed that.
Next after that are the West German forces.
Read the article in WI and i’m still not convinced it will be any better than FoW. I’ll follow the boot-camp and see how it plays ‘for real’. The minis look fantastic though.
Same here, want to see it played first and then will consider whether to invest
