Battlefront Miniatures has this week been taking a closer look at the Red Devils supplement for your British armies in Flames Of War. If you're looking to expand upon your force and create a specialised strike force then this is well worth checking out.
Shop Flames Of War @ Store.OnTableTop
Inside this particular book, you're going to find options for playing as the British 1st Airborne Division on the tabletop and look at is origins plus their campaigns in 1942 and 1943. There is an expanded Eight Army Force Diagram so you know how to build up your force and bring in their Parachute Company and Commando elements.
You will also find options for growing the force and adding in an Armoured Fist. You've got the whole shebang here as they are allowing you to play the Airborne in all manner of interesting ways on the tabletop, able to combat a variety of foes.
In addition to what's covered in the book, more of which you can read HERE, there is also a full painting and basing guide for the Red Devils which means you can theme them appropriately to their theatre of war.
You'll also find that the set comes with two packs of cards. There are Unit Cards for all of the options you'll be bringing to the field and then a set of Command Cards which offer up special abilities to help change the flow of battle in your favour.
The Command Cards break down as such...
- John Frost (Parachute Company Warrior)
- Richard Geoffrey Pine-Coffin (Parachute Company Warrior)
- Peter Young (Commondo Troop Warrior)
- Lord Lovat Simon Fraser (Commando Troop Warrior)
- No. 6 Commando at Bone (Parachute Company, Commando Troop)
- Salvaged Naval AA Guns (Parachute Company, Commando Troop)
- Cornfield Stop Bullets (Command Section)
- Gammon Bombs (Parachute Platoon)
So, if you're looking to add something a bit spicy into the mix for your games then these might be worth the investment in points.
