So we've unboxed Open Fire! from Battlefront and Flames of War but what did the folks there think? Check out their unboxing and first game with the pieces from this new Starter Set above...
Have you picked up Open Fire! yet? Let us know how your experience has been with it, or if you're looking forwards to receiving it soon. Also check out the Open Fire Hub on the Flames of War website which has information for newcomers to the world of 15mm wargaming.

Great Video guys!! Clear and concise wins the day 😀
I maintain my opinion of “Awesome amount of gear per £!!” and look forward to getting yet another new rule book 😛
It is very professional! Should check out some more of their boot camp stuff as well, its all in the same style with a good clear dose of help-juice lol.

I would be viewing their videos today, only, I am setting off to their gaming club tonight. Hopefully join in a game, if not, I will spectate or maybe the painting area they say they have. Phoned them up yesterday and they seem a really helpful bunch of guys. 🙂
What a terrible set of rules !
Infantry attacking across the open against tanks and knocking them out !
Dont the tanks hull machineguns get to shoot ???
Terrible set of rules because you can’t shoot at the enemy in his turn when he’s shooting a rocket launcher at you?
Aye….its called Overwatch, all the best rule systems use it.
In real life , soldiers dont take turns to shoot at each other.
In real life soldiers aren’t made of grey plastic, most of ’em are taller too. 😀 Its a very slight abstraction, all the “best” rules systems use those because they’re games, not realistic simulations- reality is fundamentally boring, or else we wouldn’t play games.
Just saying….it would be nice if the rules reflected what was most likely to happen given the tactical situation.
And another thing, this is the second video i have seen of this game and in both videos, tank crews are apt to jump in and out of their tank ! I have read a number of historical books / memoirs / tv documentaries of tankers ( British, German and Russian) and this was never mentioned.
But seems very common in this rule set…..another black mark against FoW.
