Battlefront Brings Colours Of War To Life
May 26, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Battlefront Miniatures has updated their paint lines and are now offering the Colours of War paint sets. If you saw Dawn's interview at Salute you would have gotten a sneak peak into the new sets. The first of the sets is the Quartermaster set which offers you the basic colours to get you into painting your miniatures.
Add on army specific sets and you will have what you need to properly colour the uniforms and equipment. They are also offering spray paints to match the base primary colours to help with the painting process.
The new bottles are bullet shaped and hold a larger amount of paint, they are still in a dropper style bottle which I prefer for non-contaminating my paint and easier to dose into an airbrush.
I am not sure if these are still Vallejo paints or a new supplier. The current offerings are: the Quartermaster set, German Armour, German Uniform, US, British, and the Soviet sets.
I will have to try and get some to test them out and report back on how well they cover. Oh, and don't forget to check out the Colours of War Painting guide too. Are you happy with the change in paints from Battlefront?
"The new bottles are bullet shaped and hold a larger amount of paint, they are still in a dropper style bottle which I prefer for non-contaminating my paint and easier to dose into an airbrush"
The bullet shape I’d quite fun, however, it’s a bit of a gimmick.
I’m interested in the German infantry set and will buy it as and when released. Then it all depends how well they work really.
If I like them I’ll be getting more. In any case I will fill them into pots. I can’t stand dropper bottles.
The lids should make fine ‘pinned’ markers for Bolt Action 🙂
Can anyone confirm whether these are just Army Painter / Vallejo paints in fancy looking pots or are they a new range?
If they are a new range I will definitely give them a try. Not sold on the bullet shaped bottles but it’s something different I suppose.
I read from Battlefront’s website that these are new paints developed together with the Army Painter guys. I guess Army Painter is also doing the manufacturing.
And here’s the article: http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4868
The bottles reminds me of lipstick or some sort of make up holder…
With the new names I’ll take a guess that they are probably not Vallejo paints who normally use a set name. Although they may have introduced a more military range into their game colour line which is more hard wearing than model colour. Look forward to finding out and giving them a go.
like the bottles.
Yes they are the same paints only in a larger bottle with a new style of cap. I don’t believe they have any new colors yet. The only thing actually new may be the guide, which is probable the online guides they already had.
Bet the nozzles still clog.
Pretty cool paint bottles.
