Drop Artillery On Your Foes With New Flames Of War Soviet Releases
March 1, 2023 by brennon
The end of February heralded another set of releases for use with Flames Of War and your 15mm Soviet armies. Battlefront dropped a couple of new sets of artillery, a handful of tanks and more to help round out your forces that are marching on Berlin during the Late War period.

Leading the way are those artillery pieces. You've got the 160mm Mortar for example which can fill a few gaps in your army alongside the rather hefty 203mm Howitzer. Clear up pretty much any defences that the Axis might have put in place with these on your side!

There are four Mortars in the set and the Howitzer comes with two big guns. One seems like it does a lot of work so imagine what chaos two could bring?!
"Can We Borrow Your Tanks?"
As well as the artillery, you can also call on some new tanks to help support your Soviet army. The new M4 Sherman Tank Company brings five tanks to the tabletop.

The Sherman joins the Soviet army as the Emcha with options for building on the M4A2 Hull Top as part of the plastic kit. It's neat that there was this sharing of technology and kit between the different forces during World War II and it helps to build up this desperate narrative as the end of the war looms and people are fighting with whatever they can get their hands on.
There is also a rather fun set of accessories that you can pick up too. There is a new pack of Bedspring Armour for offering a little bit of additional protection!

Throw in some additional side armour for your T-34s. And yes, that is literal bedsprings strapped to the sides of tanks. Improvised armour at its finest!
Gaming Accessories!
Last but not least, you can also get your hands on a new Gaming Set for the Soviet Guards.

This set comes in a themed Soviet Guards tin and contains sixteen dice, twenty tokens for use during gameplay and two objective markers. Something for the Soviet wargamer who has everything? Could you be tempted to get your hands on some of these new releases to flesh out your Soviet army and perhaps finish it off?
