Take Down Air Support In Flames of War Brown Water Navy
May 15, 2015 by brennon
Brown Water Navy continues to get additional units for the Flames of War Vietnam supplement by Battlefront and the newest set is some Local Anti-Air that will be gunning down helicopters as they come in to drop of troops...
Keep The Skies Clear
The Type 54 Machine Gun that they are armed with was small enough to pack up and carry through the jungle and then quick to set up as you take shots at helicopters in the skies above Vietnam.
The tactic for these squads would be to set up their machine guns in a triangular formation and then keep the target in the centre. They would then open up to deadly effect shredding whatever poor target got stuck in the middle.
If you're looking to give your boats some air support on the battlefield then you might have to think again before you send them into the jaws of their machine gun fire.
Will you be getting this kit?

Spooky! Are these actually new? I picked up a pack at Salute and wondered why I couldn’t find an entry for them under the local forces list PDF. Assumed they had been out previously and had been discontinued / rolled up into the weapons teams box set with the mortars and recoiless.
The figures are not new, the platoon (and thus the box) is. The weapons box only had one AA MG, as they only could have one in the HQ Support section. The new list from BWN has a dedicated AA platoon with up to three of these guns, so here is the box. Despite the platoon being crap (as you can’t combat attach them) I like this from Battlefront a lot. Bringing a new blister with exactly the miniatures you need for a “redesigned” platoon. A lot of companies don’t do this.
Yea, more BF models made with Dust Kickstarter money.
Controversial 😉
Right!
Only if I need to kill a member of my party!
Battlefront do love their little flags
Pretty poor review, like many on this site. Parroting from the rulebook our another article and nothing oRiginal or insightful. Dies this person even play Fow or Nam? Glad I don’t pay for this.
