15mm German Tank-Hunters & Half-Tracks Arrive For Flames Of War
May 8, 2023 by brennon
Battlefront's clash for Germany in World War II continues with a new array of 15mm miniatures to go alongside the Berlin: German supplement for Flames Of War. There are some familiar tanks, half-tracks and some more infantry support that has been shoved to the front lines.

The first of the new sets is the Panzer III Tank Platoon. You get four vehicles in the set offering up a way to keep the Soviets and the other Allies at bay as they power towards the capital. A main, medium battle tank, the Panzer III was a pretty successful tank and many of them would have seen service during World War II.
Sticking with tanks, we have the neat-looking Kleinpanzer Wanze Tank-Hunter Platoon.

This tank was designed for street fighting which is pretty key considering that the fighting is moving closer and closer to the city. They would find themselves dashing out of cover to fire their rockets before quickly dipping back into cover so they could avoid return fire. The low profile also probably helped!
Another addition to the collection is the new Sd KfZ 251 UHU Half-Tracks.

Fitted with their early night vision, these vehicles could illuminate parts of the battlefield with infrared light. That meant that if there was a tank crew nearby equipped with goggles, they could focus on targets and hit them in the cover of darkness. A handy way to get the drop on your opponent when they thought they were safe and sound in the shadows.
If you're looking to keep the skies clear then you can also call on the aid of the Quad 2cm AA Platoon.

Point those guns up and start firing. With so many bombers and fighters hoving into view on the horizon, you are going to need a fair few of these set up in town squares and on the tops of roofs so that you can keep them away from important targets.
Last but not least, there is also a new set for the Hitlerjugend Platoon. This shows how desperate the fighting was getting when they had to be called up to join in the action. Much like with last week's releases for the German "Home Guard", at this point in the war, everyone was being given a weapon and being told to keep fighting.

If you're looking to throw a lot of bodies onto the tabletop and block up those streets then you might want to snag a few of these packs. They might be inexperienced and for the most part, quite young, but they are still armed with panzerfausts and such so they could pop a hole in a tank given a good vantage point.
