FireForge’s Scandinavian Infantry Finalised & Ready For Battle
March 17, 2017 by brennon
FireForge Games has now finalised their Scandinavian Infantry for use in your Medieval ventures on the tabletop. The set comes with plenty of options for weapons and they're looking like a fearsome warband.
You can see a number of the different weapon options here with axes, swords, spears, bardiche and more. Focusing in on some of the designs they showed off I really like how their armoured archers are looking.
Those helmet designs are fantastic and the big coats of chainmail really work to create a nice Historical and/or Fantasy look which is cool. Additionally, if you're defending the walls of your keep you might want to use the bardiche instead.
If you're looking to use them in a game then they would work excellently for the likes of Deus Vult as a warband of mercenaries heading off on the Crusades from the North of Europe. I need some of these simply to paint up!
What do you think?

They don’t look too bad at all
Completely the wrong size/scale of course 😉
But don’t look too bad at all
Norsemen for my WFB 3rd edition army you say?
love the bardiche axes – these fellas be awesome for the northern crusades, battle of visby, ooh, or the battle of Largs in 1263 🙂
I’ll be ordering these shortly. 🙂
nice troops.
These looks pretty good but I’ve never seen any evidence for double bitted war axes. No archaeological or museum examples or even any depictions of them not being used by God’s or mythic Heroes.
Love the set but for people going for historical accuracy go Bardiche over double axe.
Wonder how the parts mix with the GB plastic Vikings. …
the heads have the same flat joins it seems but I’d want a sprue or 10 in my hands for good measure. investigative purposes, naturally 😉
They’d make good Galloglas
ooh now there’s an idea…
