FireForge Look To Build An Army For Medieval Russian
October 19, 2015 by brennon
FireForge are taking a leaf out of North Star's book and launching their own pre-0rder program to fund a range of not only metal and resin miniatures but also plastic Medieval Russians. See what you think of some of their concept work below...
The main pre-orders involve both a selection of Medieval Russian Infantry and Characters like Alexander Nevksy. You can pre-order them which in turn works to unlock a range of other miniatures and extras including foot versions of the heroes, new plastic regiments and more.
Here you can see Nevsky above and then a selection of the Command models that you'll have to lead troops into battle below. I think the design of these guys is fantastic and I love the Eastern European style of armour which seems to blend a lot of the ideas from Western Medieval armour and more Middle Eastern looks.
As well as the concept art they have actually started work on a range of models too. The plastic Russian Infantry have been mostly designed it seems and you can see some of them below...
Once again, I love the design of their armour and the weapons they've got at their disposal. As well as being perfect for Deus Vult you now have an option for alternative Crusading armies in SAGA: The Crescent & The Cross. I particularly like the shield designs you can see above.
Will you be picking some of these up?

I am pumped!^^
Now my dreams of a first and second Swedish crusade themed campaing can come to life!
We might even get the first ever mini of Birger Jarl one of the founders of sweden^^
Well… now I know what I want to use for my Kingdoms of Men army for KOW.
The Men of Rus would be awesome as an army for KoW indeed.
Those are rather good.
Kingdoms of Men? Varangur will suit them more.
Waiter! There is a fantasy fly in my historical soup!^^
KOW will definitely suit them more than historical games. FireForge kits are getting more “fantasy” with each release.
I do not see any fantasy elements in this, care to elaborate^^?
Eh! They only make historical models 😕
I have never heard “only” and “historical” in one sentence before XD!
Oh, no! More Fireforge models sucking money out of my wallet! 🙂
Ever since I saw Alexander Nevsky and that awesome Byzantine-inherited armor style, I’ve wanted to get some medieval Russians.
So many games I can use these in. I have just got to have them.
not alone in thinking that @huscarle…
