It’s the XLBS Show………..Happy Sunday Fellow CoGs! . ‘Guardians of Fire’ looks very interesting. . I’ve not played Moonstone. But, I might look into it…………………….(oh heck, I just ordered the rulebook) Is there a quick break-down as to what troops work together and which don’t? I might as well order some minis now! ***Just watched the ‘Let’s Play Moonstone’ from June 3rd this year. NICE! (Tom’s voice reminded me of the Goth Guy from The IT Crowd) 🙂 . Oh heck…..@brennon I can’t believe someone made a game, ‘Great Western Trail’, where the goal is to end up in Kansas!… Read more »
There are 3 factions some characters are multifaction there are box sets that include characters that work well together but otherwise you have free reign.
What a glorious fun rabbit hole MoonStone GKG has turned out to be!
My wife and I have watched all the OTT videos, tied MoonStone GKG, at least twice. I’ve bought nine boxes of minis and ordered the card set and the Hardback book.
Started a new tabletop, 3’x 3′, just for playing MoonStone GKG that is foldable. Plus started shopping around for printable terrain STLs aka houses and shops plus scatter terrain.
it’s a grower isn’t it 🙂
Yup! ??
Happy SUnday, the universe is right again and all is good with the Greatest Movie ever made.
Shrek is on again?
Happy Sunday!
Like the idea of a Zoroastrian based game; the world was created as a battlefield between light and dark, so why not play it out in modern day settings?
Here’s an idea… If someone gets 5 Golden Buttons they get upgraded to a Golden Zipper!?!
A very happy Sunday to you all. Beverage while gaming? Has to be Tea, Tea and likely more Tea. I can forgive our colonial cousins setting themselves up but never the dumping of that tea into the harbour, travesty. If I have my friends over I try to cook something. We don’t tend to drink booze anymore, too many kids to wake up to but a good meal followed by a board game or some RPG makes for a great evening. I like to knock out something a little special like Moroccan or Chinese but then I enjoy cooking and… Read more »
A good cup of tea with a board game is very welcome. Tea and LotR: LCG is the best.
Lol you do know he will be doing that even more now Gerry Hi COGz.
Free it’s the gamers version Honey I’ve shrunk the bank account.
Gerry that new game sounds like that film nightshift? which came out a while back. Or Odd Thomas?
Nightwatch the Russian trilogy? It has a similar light v dark feel although more direct confrontation in it
night watch was q really original movie
great effects …have to watch it and day watch again
Yes day watch was a great film as well.
Yup that’s the one a great film they only made two film’s? Have you seen Odd Thomas staring Anton Yelchin it’s another strange but good film.
I read the book Odd Thomas, I heard they took all the horror out to make the film though so I never bothered. I remember they were talking about Dusk Watch for an age, but it looks like it was never made which is a shame that could have been fun
Horror not exactly still a good film i think. it was on tv Saturday? so it’ll be repeated again on one of the channels soon.
Happy Sunday! Just had my fist game in 2 years! (*Shakes fist at covid*) we cracked out dungeon Saga and started the infernal crypts expansion… beverages were coffee followed by one Negroni cocktail. It was so good to roll some dice again!
Bought a 3d printer and went in on the Kraken Fantasy Dungeons kickstarter… so there will be much more dungeon crawling to come… will have to add the baked goods aspect
A very pleasant surprise to see my project get a Golden Button – thanks for all the kind words, it’s made my weekend. @avernos I’m at the point of needing to order in some more models, and I have been looking at Polish troops and trying to decide what to include. The Vistula lancers are an almost certainty considering they are probably one of the most famous cavalry units of the Napoleonic wars. @fcostin Looking forward to seeing your LotR LCG project. Solo mode is hard, and some adventures in particular favour at least two players. I tended to play… Read more »
They did – it is worth checking out for a more narrative experience that allows you to play with the characters you want. Still a big Elladan and Elrohir fan.
oh yes, some lovely Lancers that will break up the monotony of French troops
I’ll be looking into the LotR game project.
You can just think of Scottish holidaymaker Ben for the skin colours. Lol
Great work on your figures Guy’s and the projects are fabulous looking as usual folk’s.
A fab fun XL Show Guy’s
Oh man, thanks for the golden button, really enjoyed this one and it turned out better than expected. I know it is not everyone style but the system really works for me and lets me get projects done. Grats to the other winners, good show and thanks again.
Happy Sunday, nice to have the show back.
With most games myself and my group are pretty boring and we all drink tea.
I’m looking forward to following along with that solo playthrough of the LotR card game. I’ve never played it myself and haven’t really looked into it before but now it’s certainly got me intrigued.
We done to the golden button winners, some really nice stuff there.
Goblin Clan wars? I volunteer as tribute Gerry!
Moonstone Boot camp! Yes, please lads!
That would be awesome, if Bootcamps were ever a thing again.
I would definitely watch a whole weekend of coverage on Moonstone GKG!
One of the best things about this show is the ideas you can pick up along the way. My mates and I are about to kick off Cursed City and red wine will be the order of the day.
@brennon I can see the non-canon GW that went through your head for the Old World (which you have absolutely no interest in developing for a 9th Age army). The cry of the highborn halfling giant rider and his faithful mount before battle “Have at,Tiny. Strap me on! Its time to dance”
@avernos Beer you say? There will be a care package…. Giftmas is coming
@fcostin Beware the upcoming Noseblower special… Giftmas is coming
Miniature wargaming via the medium of dance…. I’d pay to see that XD
Great show guys, you should look into putting a Golden Button on people’s profile etc if they’ve won one, so we know who has
Really struggling with this idea of eating doughnuts with beer. Sweet with tea or coffee, fine. Beer requires savoury.
Happy Sunday…now looking forward to Frees’s Lord Of The Ring LCG project played it solo and got my ass handed to all the time….
Moonstone did look fun with Dug the Flatulent and the D4 as markers with claiming/digging-out values. Another system, even with a namesake with a shared affliction, might be a problem storage and marriage wise. Gaming reopening is a great thing and Salute coming back in November will be great. I am most interested in gaming with the armies I painted during lockdown and an old favourite. So that means Saga (Irish painted in Lockdown), Bolt Action (Japanese army painted in Lockdown) and Walking Dead (because it’s so fun). I tend not to drink alcohol when gaming because I have to… Read more »
Gerry: a Moonstone boot camp sounds a great idea. I’d certainly be up for that!
Miniatures gaming AND eating at the same time? Not when my own minis are involved. Before I even consider allowing people to touch my minis, they are ordered to wash their hands. Should anyone be so stupid as to get anywhere near my minis with greasy fingers, rapid and violent amputations are very likely… 😀
