Happy weekend!
Clontarf! OMG, OMG, OMG! That can mean only one thing…… SAGA!
Happy Sunday!
6x XP on its way!
(For ref my XP on Sunday with this post sits at 11120)
The thing about raised skeleton armies is that they are typically raised short-term local to the battle so look like whoever was buried there. Otherwise the magic energy needed to sustain them would be too much; that’s just scientific accuracy to go with your historical fact. Then there’s logistics…
“Someone dropped their shield… hang on… OK, WHO’S MISSING THEIR LEFT ARM AND SHIELD?”
That’s why any good Necromancer gets his Ivor’s to tie his skellies’ together with string so they cant lose bits if they fall off.
;p
Roast chicken for dinner today with a side of XP sauce!!
@warzan, pretty sure Mierce Miniatures have some suitably nasty looking Viking/Dark Ages adjacent priests/shaman/wizzards in their Darklands range. Their Jutes range even has a specifically necromantic-bent to it….
It’s the XLBS Show……..Happy Sunday fellow CoGs!
Great show again, though I’m totally with Ben on the code busters, have to skip it each week, definitely dont have time or brain capacity to work on brain teasers.
Looking forward to seeing the skellie army coming soon. Also keeping an eye on Billion suns, not sure I’ll jump in but certainly enough hype to keep an eye on it.
Interesting little site about Clontarf
https://dh.tcd.ie/clontarf/
Ben i feel your pain….code busters…!!! Have to skip each week
I had that Viking ship. Bought in the gift shop in the Jorvik Viking Centre not long after it had opened. If it wasn’t for Covid there’s a good chance I’d have gone last year.
Hi COGz
Happy sunday.
Gerry, for your Dazelle camo on your space ships I would go with Black first, than Stick your shapes on in masking tape and than Spray them red and do the white rim by hand. Or you can go white spray first and tape slightly bigger shapes over the first ones and than stray them red. Its way easier to cut small shapes than to cut them out to have a negativ
Spider’s? = 4+4 horse’s? Lol
Is that a historically accurate apple store?
You would poke the Beasts Warzan.
You could just set fire to the tower as an alarm
Did they not have a capital on the isle of man around that time Gerry?
who the vikings?
yup
I don’t know if it was a capital per se but yes Brodir of Man was from there, and his brother may have actually fought with Brian against him.
That’s what the feckers are trying to do at culoden build house’s on the fields next to the visitors centre which may acutely be part of the battle ground.
I remember the 2000ad comic adaptation of that battle when slaine travels through time and appears in a nearby barrow. He then has a warp spasm and slaughters lots of vikings who have lots of pagan demons working for them
Great work guy’s.
Great episode as always. North Star do a skeleton boxed set for Oathmark but I don’t think the legs will go on those spiders.
Thanks for the Golden Button, I’m amazed my project was chosen. The rules for Kornovik the Barbarian Outcast on his woolly rhino are in the Forgotten Packs book for Frostgrave. To be honest I haven’t decided how I’ll be using him yet I just liked the model. He’ll probably be used as an npc in our games to cause trouble for all concerned.
The wargames factory saxons and vikings is would look good as zombies in my view and they come open handed. Also the fire forge Scandinavians and the gripping beast sprues come with lots of spare weapons that would work for the WG skeletons.
Love this. Interesting side point Slepnir was Loki’s child, however he changed gender to a woman had sex with a male horse and birthed Slepnir himself.
I knew my random knowledge would come in handy
@lordsanes. Have you been on the dark web again?
Norse Mythology is weirder than the dark web. Especially anything that involves Loki.
..I mean, the dark web what’s that *nervous glance*
happy sunday, speaking of movies I think for historical context you guys really need to watch Petey Wheatstraw.
00:00 Skelli wigs…. long haired skeletons! XD 17:15 Looking up things on the internet? Who does that? 26:00 please don’t google that for rule 34… 30:00 also, please look at Draugr from Skyrim… scary beast at the first encounter ; https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Draugr_(Skyrim) 38:00 So many ships… 51:30 “need to sit down and think” is always a weird phrase to me.. like: do you stand or lay down all day? XD 54:00 You can hear @warzan go full “interested big brother” mode while @brennon is dying inside 1:01:00 A Japanese tower! 1:02:30 The crew is dying… @lloyd and his build is killing… Read more »
