first. happy sunday
It’s the XLBS Show! Happy Sunday fellow CoG’s…. The chemical cleaner I use here in the USA for miniatures striping is…..”LA’s Totally Awesome All-Purpose Concentrated Cleaner Refill- 64 Oz” which I buy for a single one dollar bill per bottle. It strips paint off of minis, (for me anyway), much better than ‘Simple Green’. I walked in to a local store and bought 10 bottles once. I did get some looks but oh well. I think I grabbed a couple cans of Sardines as well. It felt weird just buying the cleaner…. @Avernos My favorite varnish is ‘Pledge Future Acrylic… Read more »
You could use official spectre Multicam and change out the colours however I just google/youtube desert camo and see what comes up
Happy Sunday everyone. Great work on the bust Ben and it’s an amazing sculpt, I love the expression on its face, and it looks fantastic painted up. Love the basing on the 15mm Warren ?
Happy Sunday!
Don’t know why you’re showing the ‘Timor Sea’ with an extra ‘e’?
Love that pic of Ben as Dark Helmet. Now to watch the show…
The Burrows and Badgers project from @144artist is supreme. It would be so cool if some of the Indies sign him up as a studio painter. Amongst the current and past projects, his work stands out so highly with his expert eye for detail and ability to bring characters to life (see his Mantic Terrain pieces). I’ll keep saying if this guy is an amateur hobbyist, then he’s got the absolute talent and skill to be a professional miniatures painter. Inspirational.
“It’s ok… we’re used to it now” … the voice… the tone… that is a broken @brennon XD
Ben you need to try Biostrip 20 trust me it’s the best product out there by a long long way. And it doesn’t smell all medicinal.
Yeah its great stuff
Thirded 😉
Dangerous click of the day this…
Warren, you should look at Peter Pig’s rules and figures, they work really well on the squares system.
Crossfire woukd work fine for moderns. For Choppers I woukd use an an activation to call ut it in with whatever percentage chance of it not getting through, allow defensive fire if applicable. Chopper then does its thing and buggars off. I dont think I woukd have lingering over the table during the game
Yay the XLBS Show Hi CoGz.
Whale song’s?
Fairy Power spray had its recipe changed and is no longer effective on acrylic paint. You’d need bottle from 7 or 8 years ago. It was good for doing small or single minis… spray, wait 30 seconds, toothbrush, rinse, repeat and done. Might not have got primer in deep or small places but I wish they would change it back.
You need original Dettol, green/yellow/pink dettol doesn’t work.
Well see someone being trampled trying to milk a bull? in the future.
You can’t beat squiging busts!?!
good show, glad to see ben got the wookie finally.
One thing I think would work well with using a grid @warzan, is the use of support fire elements (ie mortars, artillery, close air support. With the grid system, you can do the”little bird strafe runs” from Black-hawk down, on a specific grid/location. use of fire support elements to suppress enemy positions to maneuver friendly units.
I use them disposable sonic tooth brushes and the batteries are still good when the bristles start to go curly that could be good for clean the mobiles guy’s.

The black mamba? Troopers.
Famous Bile has been P.C.d?
That picture of Ben as Dark Helmet is second in quality only to Warren and Justin’s Napoleonic portraits.
Don’t forget car’s are only bulletproof in films @warzan Google mythbusters to see how well bullets go through car’s.
What ever happened to Platoon 20 miniatures ? They made great 20mm WW2, Vietnam and modern figs back in the 1980’s. They were based in Ireland too.
Cameron Robinson sold the ranges off some years ago. Platoon 20 are with East Riding miniatures now
Hiya Tony from East Riding Miniatures has now retired. However I have taken over Platoon 20 which will be available at East Front Miniatures (https://east-front-miniatures.com/)
Once we’ve gone through all the moulds and checked everything, we will slowly bring the ranges back production starting with World War I.
Take care
Andy
