It’s the WEEKEND!
Egads – if Warren’s talking about his “D&D Dolls-house” hobby this much on the Weekender, what have we got in store in XLBS?!?
Loving it!!!!
(p.s. How many exclamation-marks in husband-and-wife code represents sarcasm?) 😉
D&D dollhouse … that’s a word I never thought could exist …
And I certainly didn’t imagine anyone being ok with such a thing in the living room.
I know I’ll be watching the progress closely, because it is something I wished I would have thought of myself.
I can endorse the service level provided by the store… one saga continued for months (not OTT fault) but as soon as the manufacturer provided the element required they followed up and sorted me out!
5 is a sure sign they wear their underpants on their head
Happy Friday!
I love Lloyd’s well idea for your display. If you can only have one building’s interior you know it has to be a tavern. Such a fun project!
Controllable coloured LED’s…gotta be the way to go.
That beholder is looking at me…
Nice show
Evening all, i actually get to this on Friday this week,
I hope Warren has enough mimics available for his dungeon,
Happy weekend folks, now to champion the only true scale…6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm… Read more »
I know dont you just despair of people going on about these huge 15mm figures
And lo it is written they too shall scale down to 6mm…
6mm is not a scale for minis.
might as well play with tiny screws and metal ballbearings … 😀
Oh shush you
When I was kid I did that, the screws were victorious. Washing pegs in the kitchen sink too instant warships ?
6mm is a great scale for wargaming, you can paint up 10 6mm figures in the time it take to paint up a single 28mm. Now that 10 figure 28mm unit is nearly 100 figure strong (and you can guess which looks more impressive on the Wargames table. And we’re spoilt for choice these days with the like of Adler, Baccus and even Heroic and Ros is remastering all their WW2 and Modern infantry. And when it comes to tank warfare, you can play Flames of War and Team Yankee using 6mm figures, and keep the distances for the default… Read more »
@Phaidknott only 10 figures per 28mm you are obviously doing it wrong… I personally use a ratio of 6/1 for 15mm using a standard 40mmx15mm base so get 24 figures per base… So with a 25/28mm figure I would be using a 60mmx20mm base which adds another 24 figures so a ratio of about 16/1 I think.
Boat vs. ships was explained to me by a squid I worked with who was on a sub. Surface craft are ships and the subs are boats. Look at U571 and I guess that’s the history behind the decision *shrug*.
Depends who you’re talking to and what definition they use, there are dozens (Royal Navy, US Navy, different marine bodies…. etc).
Just don’t ask when you should say “in a boat” Vs “on a boat” (ps almost always on a ship!)
absolutely made up! also i’d love to know feedback from Indie of the week because they must get scoped out after each episode (vague memories of one of them crashing afterwards?) talking of scales i’m thinking if the bases were done in a modular way 10mm or 15mm dwarves versus goblins in those archon dungeon tiles would give them impact (mines of moria anyone?)
Frostgrave is already pre-ordered and got all previous books. Need to assemble that box of Frostgrave wizards I bought a while back.
Happy Weekender all. Great show and Great Indy of the week but it’s Spellcrow for me this week as my top pick, really love the Goblins they have released and the terrain they have on site…and the dwarves, everything really. I would have purchased already but knee deep in the Warploque Kickstarter, my first ever Kickstarter, and loving every minute of it.
Thanks for the show, really enjoyed it even though a puppy dies everytime 3D printing is mentioned 🙁
and the weekender fun begins.
Me and my DnD group did a city-wide fight. It all started because one of our group started a fight with a dragonborn and before we knew it we’d murdered almost all of the city guard… After that we all switched from Chaotic Neutral to Chaotic Evil…then it got really crazy. I love DnD…
Two different movies. The Pentagon Papers refer to the early 1970s prosecution of the Washington Post for publishing a classified report drafted by the Pentagon on the conduct of the Vietnam war.
The Pentagon Wars was a satire on the failed development of two vehicles, the Infantry Combat and Cavalry Combat vehicles (XM723 program); the precursors of the Bradley (M2/M3). I’ve seen the movie and it is funny, but not to be considered in anyway factual. BTW Bradleys are not garbage; the thought implies too much movie and too little facts.
Thanks for the show.
I bet the movie made it look even worse than the actual development, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual engineers could have made an even better version if management had not interfered as much as the movie implied.
what about a Demogorgon guys?
them 15mm figures look fabulous.
It’s the Weekender. The team is back together again!
Gawd, it felt like this week just kept grinding on and on.
Lol loved the show.
My two cents on the D&D Dollhouse based on the last VLOG – For LED, on Amazon US there is the Tenmiro 4-Port which will have 4 different light zone with plug and play LEDs – For the gap on the front, if you take the tile edge from Printable Scenery and measure the clip on Dungeons and Lasers and mash them up in tinkercad that will be FAR easier than using clay for all those gaps. – Don’t use green stuff to fix the wall gaps. Create a wall clip like the one from True Tiles and lock them… Read more »
Amazing show! D&D is really fun, and my favourite character was a halfling assassin, who used poisonous candles to kill people
Spooky noises while playing a videogame are best left to playing Silent Hill. That Resident Evil stuff can be set aside.
You can do a bit of wafty raggy curtains without a glass front. If you hide a tiny fan in a more-towards-the-front bit of the dungeon you could blow some rag in very realistic ways.
This comment is wrong in ways I can’t even identify right now.
?
I’m excited to see warrens dungeon grow
The beholder is pretty funny, more of a threatening sort of snarl than scary. Fits the character IIRC.
