Happy Weekender! So curious and excited for the Lloydee range……what could it be??? Take my money, please! The Flames of War Campaign is going to an event not to miss. ‘Blood & Valor’ has me really excited. Firelock Games is batting 1000 so far and this WWI game looks really good. Not just about the trench war but everything else that happened as well during that time. I’m looking forward to setting up some tables in the vein of Lawrence of Arabia. For those who missed it this week check out the Carnival-Row-RPG.pdf posted in this article. I consumed the… Read more »
Happy Weekend!!
Brilliant Cowboy Bebop reference! Looking back on it, I could see the whole show taking place around PanO with Jet, Spike, and Faye working as Authorized Bounty Hunters.
There’s a conversion job waiting right there – if you used Dashat Company you could easily see Miranda Ashcroft & Lucien Sforza standing in for Faye & Jet, Valerya Gromoz as Ed, and I’m thinking Saito Togan as Spike?
Now there’s an idea.
I would always comment on BoW rather than you tube. Mainly as I dont know how to on you yube
You just need to create a google account and log in, in YouTube
Thanks for our props!
Have a great weekend all.
It was cool to see our usernames posted in the Weekender! Thanks for another great show!
Happy Weekender! Have to say Titans looks pretty interesting. Sadly won’t be able to back it since I spent all my money on Battletech’s Clan invasion Kickstarter.:-(
Any word on Mythic actually retailing any of their games? I have mixed feelings about Kickstarter but I haven’t seen much news on Reichbusters or MB: Pantheon as retail games…
Great work as always! The Obliterator for Dust 1947 that I won on the UKGE stream came in this week so that will be an interesting task if they ever post assembly instructions for it…
Mythic & Monolith parted ways after the first Mythic Battles: Pantheon kickstarter, so it is now a solely Monolith project. And shortly after the campaign it was announced that MB:P would only be available to purchase via kickstarter due to the size of the game and its expansions being an issue for retailers to fit on
shelves (something raised after the Conan campaign). There was some talk of it being available to purchase from Monoliths website but nothing has come of that so far….
It was a bit of shame when that happened. I’ve got a few of my local club members into MB:P but it’s so disheartening when I have to tell them that eBay is the only place to buy it…
Great show everyone…. I’m thinking about doing some advertising around the local clubs for the Flames of War D-Day Campaign. I know you can’t tell us when it starts, but can you tell us when you will be able to tell us please? Also will there be downloadable advertising for Cultists and non-Cultists to be able to spread the word? For New Zealand, we are approaching the end of the academic year for universities and schools in October thru early December – including exams. So that is on top of the pre-Christmas activity in retail, etc….So people have lots of… Read more »
as soon as we know we’ll let you know 🙂
That Joan of Arc trailer looks so good.
If I win the voucher I’ll visit you guys up north 🙂
(At some p[oint I’ll do that regardless 😀 )
It’s the Weekend!
FoW slo-gro league is going down well at our club. It’s bought in a few new players and even a couple of new members, existing players have been reinvigorated and encouraged to begin a new army. Must do a project of how I’m attempting to field a Canadian force adapted from the currently available British (and even a few US as proxy for now) models. How will the campaign system cope I wonder?
TANKS is also useful for picking up that one model you need for a special purpose (OP?) or to stretch your existing list into an extra platoon (e.g. Firefly to add to spare Shermans). At 30% off…
Tolkein joined in 1915, after sitting his Uni exams, as 2nd Lt. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/pathways/firstworldwar/people/p_tolkien_app.htm Shipped to France in 1916 where he finds himself deep in the Somme (a major influence on his later work).Late 1916 he is hospitalise with Trench Fever and shipped home. He tries several times to rejoin but is deemed medically unfit each time. He eventually is allowed to rejoin in 1917 but stays in England and after another sickness is assigned a desk job until the end of the war. So he was over there for just a few months during the Somme in 1916 on active… Read more »
Love the look of the Raven Guard stuff but the Iron Father is all the win.
yes, the Iron Father is a great miniature.
One of my favorite Savage Worlds sub worlds is Deadlands. the mix of the old west and a little bit of everything else is so much fun to play it. I have always thought it would be easy to combine Deadlands and Wild West Exodus to make a truly bizarre game. (so many thoughts, so little time) Glad to see they are doing a new pass on Savage Worlds.
How / where can you check if you’re still part of Backstage / cult of game, if you thought you had annually signed up about three to four years ago?
@tahatan Maybe try and watch an old Xlbs. If you can view it your still signed up as a backstager I would presume
Great show.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a game related to Slaine is released sometime in the near future by Warlord – Gav Thorpe teased some stuff months ago on social media about play testing rules for something that sounded suspiciously like it. As long as there is a Lord Weird Slough Feg model, I’ll be happy (music related rather than the comic).
The Raven Guard home world is Deliverance – I would have thought inbreeding and banjos would be more appropriate than emo hair cuts.
Now if they made some plastic skyships, that would be cool
Those Conquest Dwarves look great. Not so sure about the transpecies backstory. It comes across like Monty Python’s Life of Brians ‘Jehova’ sketch. “Are any of you Dwarves?”, “NO! We may look, sound, live and act like dwarves, but we’re definately NOT Dwarves! We’re Dweghorn. Completely different. Nothing like them.”
Good luck Blood and Valor. It’s tough, probably impossible to get a WWI game right without tanks. They are literally ‘zombie rush’ games otherwise.
Mom I’m on TV I saw my name!
I felt the same way when I had a picture shown on the wide awake club. Very much the golden button of its day
Did Timmy Mallet say it was good?
he did, he said I must really like drawing Leprechauns 😀
@warzan @lloyd I do the troops first. Maybe I should be a USSR player and just throw hundreds of tiny men at tanks and hope for the best
An early start for me today, huzzah
You made me really curious about that Lloyd range now!
It’s a DIY hills pack. You get sent a piece of foam
??
Hmmm… I do like foam.
OMG you guys did not know that the Raven Guard were one of the first 20! Man, you guys got some reading to do in the 30K line. I think I have read almost every 30K book by now.
no I like better games so I pushed out a lot of information I don’t warrant as necessary
I just think it’s great to finally have plastic characters & upgrade its coming out for more than just the 4 “core” Chapters of Space Marines. Even discounting the Chapter specific pads, if nothing else the potential for kitbashing these create is immense. Can’t wait to see what we get for the Salamanders and whether there will be anything extra for the Sons of Dorn beyond the Imperial/Crimson Fist sprue that came in one the Primaris army boxes last Christmas…
Good stuff as always! Curious about the fow dday campaign. I’ve been playing it very competitive this year (etc and gt’s) so the camp will be a nice change of pace.
Mornin all.
Joan of arc 1.5 looks awesome. Perfect for saga\saga with a bit of magic @lloyd @avernos
Additional – clean shaven @dignity…. What’s her name??? 😉 or court case?
