Waiting For Warhammer: The Old World? You Could Play The Ninth Age Instead! #OTTWeekender
May 19, 2023 by avernos
It's OTT Weekender time! Why would you wait for Warhammer: The Old World when The Ninth Age, an amazing community-led wargaming project, exists and gives you access to all of the mass battle Fantasy goodness that you could want? You also get to play with whatever miniatures you like!
The Ninth Age was built in response to the death of Warhammer Fantasy Battles back during 8th Edition and since then it has grown into an immense project with its own rules, a growing world full of lore, amazing artwork, miniatures and the room to develop even further. It's a solid way to get your mass battle fix without needing Warhammer: The Old World.

Wow… am I here again? How did that happen!
spinning ball in space spins too quickly
You are
How is it Friday again? Already!
Hobgoblin looks interesting and that cover logo is all kinds of awesome.
I’ll be ordering Demon Ship because it just looks brilliant.
Happy weekend everyone!
Good choices all round!
Celtic Frost did much for metal and font design. Great looking work for an interesting game
Happy weekend everyone. I will sit back, open a beer and relax – count on it.
Yay the weekender time folk’s.
31:57 Standing on it’s own two feet on a flocking proper square base as the gods intended!
Natural selection survival of the fittest.
chocking? Does just putting comment count?
Would it be the airspeed velocity of an unladen Chicken?
Happy weekender all. Daemon ship sounds epic, this is completely new to me and Im going to have to go look this up ?
Fab show guy’s.
The weekender is here and hobgoblin looks good to me..but it would i have backed it.
Welcome to the weekend you lovely people! Huge fan of 9th Age and well worth checking out.
Great show! I enjoyed this week’s Indy of they week.
Never realised Gaslands and Billion Suns were from the same creator.
Like the look of both of those..
A man of many talents
Still need to play a rat catcher with his small vicious dog… 😀
Nah! Blaspha-you, blaspha-me, blaspha- everybody… that’s the best way to go about that Heresy business
Ashes of Faith already sold out before the 10am pre-orders even begin…
maybe Nottingham is ahead of GMT in some way and so their 10am comes earlier
Such bad stock control…
I hate that font for Hobgoblin. I get that its metal and cool, but I cannot read it.
Unsurprisingly Kill Team: Ashes of Faith sold out as soon as it went live, and GW customer service whilst apologectic were fundamentally useless
Good Morning 🙂
I moaned about the postage for Demon Ship, talked myself into it and the pre-order ended yesterday. Ah well there’s always the full release. Ditto the Ashes of Faith thing. I’ve a lot of the Chaos models already for the Next Project but as a standalone thing I could play through, it’s actually quite appealing.
Lots of “wait for the full release” then. That’s ok, I’m not short of grey plastic while I wait.
A Call of Duty tabletop game!? Will that not just be Bolt Action or any other WWII tabletop game that is out there…. I really don’t see the point of turning certain video games into tabletop games. I wonder, will there also be loot boxes for those games?
Comes with additional screaming teenagers
9th Age! Perhaps it is time after 20 years to dust off something that Counts.
Some of that 3d printing stuff intrigues me..
Lured to the dark side
