Yay the weekend starts now, so why am I still painting board game minis?
Because somebody has to so that we can watch the progress on the XLBS…
Because they are often the best part of many boardgames, because they are often as good as miniature games minis and character minis are nearly always good, particularly in IPs like the Witcher
hey Gerry – Witcher game will be released after Kickstarter, Valhalla already had nd reprint waiting for another, their second game from Kickstarter just beeen delivered and soon hits to stores – TITANS, I remember you had interviewed Lukasz few years back, he is very good game designer and famous polish youtuber Wooki, he made I think over 20 games already and he is just over 30 y old,
First! And looking forward to this.
Happy weekend!
Punk! Almost as good as metal….
some great punk bands
The Damned being the best of them all of course.
I’m still a fan of Stiff Little Fingers, who I should have seen live last year before the Event, of course, Capt Sensible is still one of the better captains and who I named my gorkamorka Rebel grot leader after.
I once saw a Stiff Little Fingers tribute band in a pub in Newcastle – they were better than the real thing!
I had much the same experience watching a Stranglers Tribute band.
Fun fact about the Stranglers when I saw them live in the 80’s they had a “blue” comedian as their opening act. Weird.
must have been the style of the time, I remember Stewart Lee talking about seeing Ted Chippington as the opening act for someone… possibly the Fall. Not a blue comedian but a surreal one that really annoyed all the fans in the venue with the exception of Stewart.
the comedian and music combo never really came over here, it was one or the other
yeah agreed. I also once so some kind of weird poet supporting The Levellers – but that seemed more in keeping with their political / environmentally friendly stance.
Huge fan of Stewart Lee, I have watched / listened to many an interview where Stewart waxes lyrical about Ted Chippington – although I cannot quite get away with Ted myself, I can see where Lee got his inspiration from!
weekend starts now and so does THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE
Those trench work Americans could help build a great detailed beach assault diorama but have to agree with Lloyd that the inserts are a little blocky. However I’m still a fan. Great show guys ?
Aye I think they could make a great diorama of the beach landings
Its another of those extended Weekend thingies in the UK!
Woooow you cover punkapocalyptic again!!!!!????? I am happiest than wastelander with a cold watermelon juice can!! Hell yeah! I love that game
A lot of folks are very into Punkapocalyptic
And the community thank you the support, really do It, the spanish community are being in love with the Game and IS a pity that the International Friends dont enjoy this crazy Game, punkafans try to share on all ways possible but IS hard, the support of Big guys like you IS awasome, really guys, a lot of thanks 🙂
By the way… I love wacht to you explode on laughs on wekender video XD
Anyone interested in the PunkApocalyptic minis might also like to know that Robert J. Schwalb (creator of Shadow of the Demon Lord, etc.) created the PunkApocalyptic tabletop RPG (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/304311/PunkApocalyptic-The-RPG). It was successfully Kickstarted last year and is now available to all.
sweet, thanks for the heads up it’s definitely a world worth exploring
Robert IS a crazy coolest Guy?
We love you Mr Schwalb!
I’m thinking that Warhammer+ is going to most closely resemble the DC Universe streaming service, if you can remember that… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Universe_(streaming_service) I never got to see it, since it was restricted to the US. “The service included original television programming, access to select animated series and films from DC’s back catalogue, a rotating selection of comics from DC Comics, forum discussion space, and a merchandise store.” Their are analogues for all of the above in GW’s and its licensees’ products. It could include the Black Library back catalogue of both books and audios. The White Dwarf archives could be raided… Read more »
Yer I can see it being a combination of different things bundled into one service
The big issue for GW and any mass-media is that it’s restricted largely to existing fans of it’s IP. Warhammer Old World looked enough like 15-17th Century Europe that there was little required in back story. AoS is a sh!t-fight that GW can’t even get right over numerous books let alone explain in a short film. 40K would probably confuse non-GW fans as well with it’s science vs religion, faith vs reality theme too.
AND they’d better do a better job than ‘Ultramarines’ by way of introduction or people will switch off from episode 1
For anyone who wants to watch the content, it’ll be worth it. For those not bothered, it won’t be.
The real question: is there enough of an invested audience to support the content creation by GW.
As a BoW backstager, I consider the content worth the price. I also consider that my subscription supports the existence of the creative team.
So it’s more about ‘do you think the existence of the service is worth the price?’, rather than the value of the contents.
There are a lot of Warhammer fans…but maybe not enough to sustain W+ if it doesn’t deliver a good enough service
iiiits weekender time folks.
Is it me or does Kragnos look very much like Lord Tirek from My Little Pony????? Just asking
Wow! Really does!
Well… Not gonna unsee that anytime soon. Thank you. =P
Great show again! If you like Oldhammer and to tie in with Stargrave week check out Tim Prow’s latest Diehard Miniatures KS which was funded in one day:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/diehardminiatures/diehard-miniatures-chaos-incursion-2?ref=user_menu
NB I’m not on commission… I just love the nostalgic feel to Tim’s sculpts. ?
Will certainly be giving that a look!
Lloyd does Blazing Saddles?
For Post-Apocalyptic skirmish games, never forget This Is Not A Test from Joey McGuire/World’s End Publishing (also part of the Blaster mag team)
https://worldsendpublishing.com
🙂
Last Days by Ash Barker is also worth a look.
Optimum Prime does look great a bet its not cheep?
699 USD… And that was before it sold out on Hasbro’s site and the scalpers get involved.
https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-optimus-prime-auto-converting-programmable-robot-collectors-edition
Wow ill pass on that then.
Another flawless intro! absolutely delovely
is that not Rudolf doing his summer job?
Friday…. a bank holiday weekender in all its glory
loving the show guys. was that the international distress signal Ben was doing at the end COGz.
Indie punk? Rave on like it’s 1993 all over again!
Those Trenchwork landing forces are JUST what I need!!!!
Great episode, as usual. Hopefully with Covid winding down I will be able to get some people to play Core Space. I have everything they’ve made so far, and will buy everything they make, in the hopes of actually getting a few games in.
Core Space is one of those games I’d love to give a go
Nice show. To bad I’m not into Post-Apocalyptic game but the look like fun minis.
Warhammer+ is going to need a lot more content than the few little animations they’ve shown for me to sign up and pay especially at the price tag GW is likely to charge for it.
It does appear to have other content too – exactly what, we don’t know.
that’s the problem … we don’t know what else they got.
They could do sooo much more (‘free’ access to their rules and army books, a digital version of White Dwarf and all of its previous releases)
And they chose to lead with a handful of animations ?
