Wargames Atlantic Bring The Damned To Gamefound!
May 9, 2023 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic are going to be heading to Gamefound to launch their first crowdfunding campaign alongside the folks from MiniWargaming. The focus is going to be on producing eight hard plastic sets for The Damned!
The Damned // Wargames Atlantic
This is a new faction from the Sci-Fi Death Fields range by Wargames Atlantic and will break down into different sets that include Infantry, Command, Brutes, Outriders, Heavy Support Teams, Hounds, Artillery and Tanks. This is going to be the first time we're getting a big hard plastic vehicle from Wargames Atlantic! All of this will be 28mm and suit all manner of different games out there like Warhammer 40,000 and Stargrave.

Here is some of the background behind The Damned...
"These unfortunate humans were part of a powerful and wide-ranging end-of-days cult in human space that believed only strict separation from the rest of humanity would save them from the coming galactic apocalypse. To that end in the late 2300s they secretly funneled monies to construct a space habitat in a remote system with no habitable worlds. Here they hoped to live unnoticed by the rest of humanity. Unfortunately for them, they did. Within twenty years, minor and then major systems began to fail and few of the new generation had taken their training seriously. Rival factions claiming to know the "true path" silently formed. As their habitat began to fail around them, terrorist acts and then open conflict began to erupt."
The campaign should mean that Wargames Atlantic are going to be able to launch an entire army in one go. When the Gamefound campaign has finished and the new plastic sets have been delivered, they are also going to be available at retail either on their webstore or in stores.
Here are some of previews of the different sets that Wargames Atlantic have planned...

I am very much liking the style of these new miniatures and if they turn out anything like the rest of the Wargames Atlantic kits, they are going to be very nice to kitbash and customise. A lot of folks have been crying out for the likes of a Traitor Guard army for Warhammer 40,000 and these miniatures now fill that gap. I also think they would be excellent raiders for those wanting to throw some bad guys into the likes of Stargrave. There are plenty of weird cults out there for your crew to interact with!
Will you be backing The Damned on Gamefound?

Bam ?
I bought a ton of chaos cultists for the Next Project. The infantry box would’ve probably done that to a tee
waiting with interest
The minis look great and I hope the vehicles keep up the same look. I’d also be interested in some terrain ideas.
Grebo’s alive.?
Damned! Didn’t wanted more minis to buy lol!!!
Will check this out for sure, they would indeed make a great faction or a crew for Stargrave! Even tempted to in-house a rule for Large crewmen, like bigger 😉 cost and making them specialists…
Can’t wait to check this out!
Interesting reaction on their FB page as some long time supporters would rather see them fill out existing ranges, particularly the heavy weapons teams for their other SciFi infantry types, rather than come out with something new. Salt in the wound was that this range will come out with a full spectrum of 8 different kits including their first tank, with all sets in plastic (they have been adding to some ranges via 3D prints/stls). I can see their point but clearly new shiny is always going to win out and if this is a success then they’ll just keep… Read more »
Well done war games Atlantic – Great work ?
