Lucky you with Windows ten I am stuck on eight and every time I try an do an update my laptop just goes in to a rotation of installing and uninstalling the updates where I have to do another fresh install of windows
Those tanks look great so far. Looks like you guys are going for the Berlin-specific markings on the tanks. 😀 Looks awesome, especially the ISU-152. And I also like the engineering vehicle.
Couldn’t agree more 🙂
Windows 10 killed my SkyGo, other than that it’s been great.
Oh, new Infinity show! Yes, please. On the topic of Infinity. Is there a chance you could get Modiphius in the studio to have a chat about the RPG?
4 for 4 on the updates and all our old software works fine and in some cases better, not that I wasn’t sweating bullets!
The Russians are looking awesome and I can’t wait to see you guys actually get them on the table.
Windows 10 crashed my PC and cost me £135 to remove it and restore Windows 8!
Windows 10 is awesome compared to 8. It is more of the 7 interface with a little 8 for app access.
Welcome to the world of Windows 10, a great improvement on Windows 8.1 and 7.
Don’t turn of cortana I did and had to reinstall the f’ing thing guys.
Love the tanks @johnlyons especially the font line adaptation not a botch-up? @dignity p,s, enjoy your holiday.
remember if you use office 365 there is a fault where about 30% of documents will not open with windows 10 but still work on windows 7.
That’s why I use linux & mac’s at home
We use google docs 🙂
Upgrade to office 2016
Make sure you remove any old antivirus software, although it may work with Windows 10, it was not designed for it and will slow your computer down to a crawl…
Well done for saving the T34
John’s T34 Recovery vehicle looks pretty sweet
Very nice job on the T-34 recovery vehicle , too bad you won’t find one like that during WW2 . All recovery T-34 and KV 1 tanks were just turret less tanks with extra tow cables . Most just had a canvas cover over the turret hole . A few T-34s had a plate welded / bolted over the hole and a raised commanders hatch like on the T-34 / 85 as well as a round crew hatch added . Post war you started to see boxes and cranes added to the hull . You even had SU-85s with the… Read more »
Yeah my research says the same in that regard. But honestly, in my humble opinion it’s not too much of a stretch of the imagination to think if they had a winch they would have used it. I know this breaks my “historial accuracy” bug 😉 But I was taking influence from both the T34 recovery tanks and the Bergpanther.
Found this on the net don’t know if they are wartime conversion but? @johnlyons

Plenty of other tanks with jib/crane additions but most of the pic’s on the net are like the one bellow

Sweet. Love the Russian stuff. Also noticed the Kings of War Undead. Need some orcs with that KOW stuff?
So when are those soviet painting tutorials going up? 😀
Biggest issue i have with windows 10 is that i have redevelop a tonne of GPO’s to get the test lab back up and running at work, other than its pretty slick, Love the common ui and xbox one streaming, pretty awesome have a vpn set up from work to home so can just plug joypad in at work and then game with collegues over lunch. Also if any one else is lucky enough to have a win 10 phone preview its brilliant for the common ui and triple screen syncing between phone tablet and laptop. @warzan basically ignore any… Read more »
The recovery t-34 looks ace! Well done John for not smashing up the hull 😎
Can’t wait to see some close up pics or the Soviets but they certainly look great from the distance!
You should have upgraded the Windows 8 machines to Windows 7. 😉
The problem with a direct drive winch in the T-34 is that the transmission was at the rear so there was no drive shaft in the crew compartment to take power off like the Berge Panther and ARV Sherman . And electric winches would not have enough power to pull a tank . Post war tanks had reduction gears and shafts fitted to move power forward . More of a factory specific build than a front line workshop fix . But as I said it does look cool ( I’ve built one In 1/35 using the Tamiya kit as a… Read more »
The post war T34 Recovery did have a rear-mounted winch. Probably ran off an ancillary drive from the transmission. The worst example of an ARV is the Centurion, with 3 engines. One for Electric, one for hydraulic and the main powerpack itself. But, that does show how other nations looked at ARV’s.
