Underworlds is a great little game for tourneys. Its super tactical, you only have 12 actions per player for a whole game, so everything you do really has to matter. You can get extra actions from the cards and abilities so the deckbuilding side of it is really important too.
Rules? *drops down 90s SciFi mirrored shades* Where we’re going we don’t need *shifts gear* no rules!
*swosh*
To be continued…
Despite some naysayers on the rules I think Underworlds is a great little game and it plays absurdly quickly too. Got the original Shadespire set with Stormcast and Khorne in it – enjoyed painting them and playing a few games.
Be interesting to see the painting of these warbands!
Think Lance and Sam made a mistake abandoning the rules learning to Ryan – they had the perfect opportunity to blag their way through games and make shit up, but now he’s going to know when they’re trying to pull one over him.
?
just because he knows the rules that doesn’t mean he knows the cards and special effects of their teams 😉
Looking forward to more of this. I personally would have gone for the briar queen in the starter set, that still is my favourite so far.
Looking forward to seeing these minis out’n’painted and on the table to be lets played by you guys.
Mologg is a cute character, isn’t he ?
The squigs are nice and detailed.
Just be extra careful when assembling those tiny beasties, because they’re not quite as ‘easy’ to build.
I have a bunch of warbands painted but classic me I have no actually played a game… if I ever get over to BoW again I will bring them with me to get a game.
Shadespire warband are a joy to paint up, only a few models, really characterful, and lots of good schemes. It is also a great game to play quickly and tactically, though I stopped when it became a little too competitive and deck building became a big part of it (not my thing).
I’m still planning on getting the big troggoth to paint up though.
I think even to paint they seem pretty inexpensive and worth it for other games. Like Sam said, great for D&D or other adventures if you want to use them.
It’s a bleedin brilliant game. Good call, lads.
Great game and a great move by the team. Quick and fun. Simple to learn and hard to master. I love the low model count and how quickly you can get your warband painted. The lack of pose options is heavily negated by the high detail of the models. I’m 8 factions deep but really could still be playing with the first because the depth is there.
yay a team challenge you will be getting a battle league chart of who’s top of the kill charts
Great to see you guys diving into this. I vote for one vlog rather than lots of projects: easier to keep up!
I got a demo of this game at the last UK Games Expo and really enjoyed it.
A neat ‘Tale Of Three Warlords’ style VLOG series then 😉
Yes, please!
yes … and make them paint them too 😉
Underworlds is great fun. Need to get round to buying Nightvault and Mollog. Just need to finish painting Steelhearts Champions and the Orruk Warband.
Ah Dibs, the age old decider of any group project or carpool 🙂
I’ve picked up the Slaven another Skellies simply because I liked the look of the minis.
Might be joining in with this. The Fyreslayers, Chosen Axes, could be my pick. Was looking at scheme ideas last night and very tempted to paint them as Duergar or Dark Dvergr – purple/grey skin with lots of dark iron. Bright blue/green eyes 😉
I got all of the warbands (dont have them all painted yet) there is out yet. But only my Chosen Axe’s is painted so fare. But im almost done with the ork warband. But its a funny game, and I love how different you can play each warband, with just changing up the deck. We had some funny 4 player multiplayer games. There is also a really funny special game, where all the warbands have to fight Chaos Gargant running around the field. It was in a white dwarf. I enjoy the lore aswell, there is couple of audio dramas… Read more »
Hey @lancorz did this ever move forward? Would love to see what you guys put together.
@ghent99 I did paint my force and I also finished off a Thundrik’s Profiteers model (the rest to finish) and we did get a few games in… and rather enjoyed it. Unforunately due to time restrictions and workloads, we’re unable to get a game filmed at this time. Which is a shame, I’d love to whip Coco’s butt again.
It would be fun to see you all take on a new game. Cheers!
