looking great! the drybrush is making a hell of a difference, but I really hope you get the shading right for inside the trench. It may not sound like much, but even the lip of a sandbag revetment can create a massive shadow in the flat desert. Made concealing defences really difficult as an observer could easily spot the dark shadows and from there work out that the enemy was frantically digging trenches. Even fox holes can be picked out from the air when the light conditions were right
Buns are buns, just eat the lot. Wrong flavour, whatever next, no such thing.
The trench table definitely looks good so far. 😀
No to the buns! Carb-landmines to be avoided!
I’d say John timed his week off perfectly ?
But I take my hat off to Justin, it’s beginning to look the part!
I think I would have went onto the next project already. Props for holding the fort down and carrying on!
Great work on the tables Guy’s, getting the brushes an rollers from you’re local $/£ store is perfect as you can just bin them if you want when finished.
Like how it
s coming along, smart move with the paint for the foam and it may take longer, but you do have till the end of September. Once John
s back things should speed up, will you be adding any desert bushes and such and don
t forget about the mine fields.Trench system looking really good . But better get those minefields placed before someone rolls their Panzers right over you
Hmm, are you dusting the Skeleton Bone inside? If so, why not get an inexpensive house paint sprayer to base the whole map with the mocha in one session? Of course it depends on the quality of your ventilation, I guess, but they can be used inside.
Epic effort! Keep up the great work, see you at the bootcamp mate.
@dignity would a starburst vodka make up for the lack of buns??
Helena and I are now looking at starting a desert table for our next project…following along with interest.
Could the different sections be left floating on the table and not stuck down? Making for a more modular system? As we have limited space and could use the underlying table for something different? Will have to pick yours, johns, and oriskinys brains on trench layouts in depth.
Yes. Also there are a MILLION MILLION shades of emulsion that match Skeleton Bone.
You know what I was thinking Desert Terrain… then I realised as a kid playing with toy soldiers desert terrain was my first foray…I had a sandpit in the garden I used to play in it was proper desert terrain:-)
So I think we are missing a trick here @dignity just has to build x number of boxes using his carpentry skills and then they just need to fill them with bags of sand jobs a good’n 🙂
@commodorerob think they might have to strengthen the floorboards if did that!
@dignity looking good!
This is going to be very cool when it’s finished 🙂
well done, it’s looking great! can’t wait to see more of the progress on this 🙂 makes me wanna try as well lol
Looks Great!
Justin – absolutely the worst Bob Ross impression even done in the history of Bob Ross impressions.
John knows when to vacation! Its coming along well and is looking better than I anticipated. Cant wait to see the final product.
