Fantastic Fantasy Miniatures! 2 Wargaming Legend’s Awesome New Armies Of Elves & Orcs #OTTWeekender
August 23, 2024 by avernos
It's OTTWeekender time! In this week's episode, we have a look at one of the best ranges of 28mm Fantasy miniatures we've seen in a really long time. Hobday & Hicks are bringing their new range of Orcs, Elves and more to Kickstarter with heroes, troops and monsters for both sides. If you're looking for a new Fantasy army for wargaming then this might be a campaign to keep an eye on!
The miniatures, which have a Tolkienesque quality to them, have been sculpted by the amazing Paul Hicks and the rules for the game come from The Barons' War's Andy Hobday. The range is also supported by stunning artwork by Peter Dennis making this an excellent project packed with potential. If the Orcs and Elves do well, Dwarves, Humans and more are on the way.

If you look at what the Pinkertons got up to, they are at least ugly if not bad.
I think that could be leveled at pretty much every gang in the west at the time
Please stop saying Mmmm, that is super annoying now….

i find the use of ‘super’ where it’s not required to be annoying.
Mmmm that is super annoying.
Nice prize! Happy long weekend!
That miniature on the title card (wizard on horseback) reminds me of Gerry if his hair was longer.

Sonic boom beast?

I’ve been thinking for a while that we need to catalogue all the lookalike models that have come up over the years and gather them together. We can then make an army of Gerrys fight an army of Justins. Who would win?
Have the Sorcerer Kings winners been drawn yet?
Loving the Baron’s War fantasy stuff. Seriously tempted by the Orcs. Good, old fashioned, no nonsense, proper looking milti-purpose orcs with 101 different uses across multiple games. Ok, in that one sentence I just managed to talk myself into backing it.
I bought in to the H&H Elves. I love the stuff. I find the wolves’ sculpts a little weird – especially the legs.
I also wish the rulebook was a contained book, and not a PDF supplement.
You had me at “shadow elemental”.
What was on Bens mind!!!! What did he say again.
The Barons War models really shine when they do individual characters.
