That looks absolutely amazing. The cables, the pipework, the onramps. And yes I still would put in a little more. It still looks quite clean in some spaces. Also I still think this thing needs another impact hole from a massive side/angular shot.
RJ45 phone wire is an excellent cheap source for scale colored wires. Something else to add to the head is where you’ve removed the side and chin guns. I can see the weaponry as salvaged early in the tear down, but perhaps some control wiring where the guns used to be.
My favorite part of the build thus far. In the final build if feasible you might consider some mini lights inside as some places may have lighting where there would be workers scavenging parts. You might want to use some aluminum foil wrapped and scrunched around the bending part of a straw to represent some conduit tubes that would have been used for heating, ventalation or cooling.
looking well, I still think you need some wiring/cabling out of the gun mount to show where it’s been removed.
Looking good, I like it. I am curious about how you plan to paint all this detail though – that will be an interesting process no doubt!
A lot of that detail can be handled easily enough with a base of Imperial Gray and dip…… 😀
Looks awesome, you’ll need to cut a doorway from the main empty section through towards the head (where the pilots went from the main door). I’m presuming you’re classing the massive as the main section floor has been cut out by the scavengers?
Schematics can be seen here 🙂
Its looking well into the salvation process I think a door or a doorframe for the panel leading to the neck to connect everything up on the model.
That looks really great.
I like how by opening the AT-AT up you’ve made it possible to play through it – makes it much more practical to play a game on, as well as more interesting to look at
I think the battle damage is at a good state and the use the wiring and inner gubbins is just great! This could be my favorite video of the whole set so far.
I don’t think you necessarily need to cut a tunnel opening to represent the access way between the head and body, if you represented it with a closed door. I’m sure the latrine is located somewhere in the body, so the officers would leave the head to go to the head. 😉
I’m loving it man! This is going to be a masterpiece 😎
All the pipe work and wiring looks great….I wouldnt want to make the project to hard but after paint it would be cool if you added “working” work lights through out.
I think thats a great idea. I am going to look into it to see how complicated it would be. My mind says “not very” but we will see 🙂
That pipework gives you some great opportunities for weathering: oil spills down the walls, burn marks where the pipe’s been cut away …
Pretty cool!
Cocktail straws, far easier than drilling bamboo skewers to make piping.
That`s amazing John, i like what you`ve done with the wire`s and plastic parts. I`m with @beetle about putting some wire where the head gun`s used to be.
It`s such a pleasure watching a master at play.
