August 8, 2019 by crew
Today Gerry faces off against Charlie from Warlord Games in SPQR as they look to Occupy Sacred Ground.
Purchase SPQR at the OnTableTop Store
Using the SPQR Campaign ruleset, Gerry and Charlie will face off on the tabletop, attempting to occupy the Sacred Temple half-built or destroyed in the crossfire they have three turns to occupy the area or face game end. With the results of the game being used in the overall mini-campaign, we will see over the span of three games who turns out the victor and how powerful these Heroes can become.
Which side will you choose?

I want a campaign of this game so bad
Always going with the one who has the magic juice….
Over on the FB group -SPQR- has for various reasons gotten a bit of flak but when I watch this I can’t think of it not being fun!
Maybe it’s just Gerry and Charlie but it seems to me like a perfect beer & pretzels thing ??
Totally agree.
Not read the rulebook yet, or painted any of the models but the starter set is pretty good value for money even if you don’t end up playing it much.
Thanks guys for that….simple but fun. Liked the ending getting ready for part 2..bring it on
Before I waste nearly an hour watching, is it the same as all the other playthroughs where 2 or 3 units clash, roll hundreds of dice and stay put until all of one side are dead?
You better move on then buddy ?
Nothing here for you.
Although listening to Gerry’s silky smooth voice is never a waste of time under any circumstances ?
loved the game guys.
Roman Legionnaires with SLINGS!!!! (heresy I say, even if you had later imperial ones (who I call the kitchen sink brigade because of all the equipment they had), you had darts, pilum, and finally stakes). Another thing I noticed was the exp gain where heroes get 1 XP if their warband defeats an element. So with a single element warband (like romans), your heroes are going to level faster than multiple (or horde) armies like gauls…unless I’m missing something?
I really enjoyed watching this. The mechanics seem simple enough to pick up quickly but still remain complicated enough to have an interesting game.
I like the look of the campaign too, it seems like it could be fun.
I have to say,i enjoyed that and may well look into SPQR in more detail in the near future ( in my defense i’m easily distracted by any and all shinies in this thing we call Hobby ).This definitely goes on the ( long ) list.
Gerry is so good at these Lets Plays! Really enjoying these SPQR games. Can he take over from Justin and do all the lets plays?
