Greedy! Two spaces, now to listen to the show.
Looking forward to some more creative modelling at the weekend… and yes… it starts here!
Really like the Spectre Miniatures. I think you could probably mix and match them with Wargames Foundry’s street gang miniatures for post -apocalypse gaming? Perhaps the vehicles could be adapted for a 3D version of Steve Jackson’s Car Wars?
Great show (again!)… what will it be like when J-Bros return? ? @avernos will you be relegated to pundit rather than anchor? ? How will the six-way split look? Will @Fcostin Free get her face into the intro reel? ?@brennon How do you find such great Indies week in week out? ? Is there an Association of Independent Miniatures Manufacturers – if not, why not? Many of the minis you present look good value for money. If they banded together they could take on the juggernaut that is GW? ?
first again, i like this. Totally cool.
5th – but 5th is great. Better than 54th at any rate
@brennon Lovely to see spectre however The Black Powder Red Earth is not spectres setting it’s a comic book series that was created by Jon Chang (Author), Kane Smith (Author), Josh Taylor (Illustrator) – https://www.blackpowderredearth.com/. The Series Ember Team is a PMC unit, and the new sets of Delta and PMC Insurgents are the ones that are digitally sculpted, also spectre is a two-person operation so if you do order be patient as they are good at getting items out, the one mini you missed to show off was Baba Yaga from those movies starring the man that never ages… Read more »
My bad – thanks for the heads up.
It’s the Weekend!
Just had my second cataract done, and hopefully sometime over the weekend after the patch comes off I’ll be able to sit at my hobby desk and look at my pile of shame in literally a whole new light and make a start getting over my hobby funk of most of the last year, although I’d best be careful using spray paints and air-brushes until the eyes are fully healed; I ‘m sure I can get some eye protectors quick on A**z** Prime!
Was Justin suggesting a third in the Camel Series… “Camel Up – put down”?
That’s what I took from it
Happy weekend all!
They’re certainly some cool minis for a bit of present day warfare.
Yay weekender time.
we need to get a bandana for Justin.
Lol Justin in coming to Ireland.
Closest I’ve got to modern wargaming is the Tannhauser boardgames from FFG that they abandoned some years back. It’s a good game with interesting line of sight mechanics and the opportunity to kill occult nazis is one that should not be missed.
I have the ‘Tannhauser’ game and at least a few of the extra characters that were available separate from the main box.
Interesting game set in the WWII era with Allies fighting Occult Nazis. The main board is double sided and there’s an expansion board as well. (yes I have the expansion board too) {sometimes I feel like the american version of @avernos – let me reach over here and pull off the shelf something that other folks are talking about.….but I’m no where near as tall}
I went nuts over the game. The only thing I don’t have is the figure expansion of allied and nazi troops… but I picked up the unpainted minis somewhere and will some day use that to make the variants troops. Got all the map boards, russians and japanese too. Really like the invisible mini they did for the allies… the one with three clear plastics to represent her in stealth mode. My friend has Tide of Iron. Used to play that a lot. Pity that got abandoned by FFG too. Think that we picked up by someone else. Not sure… Read more »
It’s the Weekender! Let’s get our hobby on. ?? I really like the Spectre Miniatures. Great stuff. I may have funded an expanstion project or two at their company. Everytime I go to their website I buy something in quantity. High quality figures and vehicles. I snagged a Platoon amount of HMMVs and I think I once bought out all their Technicals of every variety. It’s good to have choices when your putting a senairo together. @brennon the ‘Black Powder Red Earth’ minis are from a comic book as well. And, yes I have those and they are top notch!… Read more »
what the god figures reminded me of.
Oh the bdsm fantasy series. I heard someone made a TV series pit of it but I could never work up the courage to watch it
The programme only when for two season’s? Gerry Lol
I’d read the books I had no need to see a tv version of his bedroom fantasies
Lol.
lol a lovely show folks
oooh … Spectre
Now where’s Bond when you need him ?
What ? not that SPECTRE ?
With videogames like Ghost Recon, SWAT and Rainbow6 being a mere shadow of their former selves I’d love to play a tabletop skirmish game set in the Tom Clancy universe.
I know that setting probably has its *eh* issues when it comes to ‘realism’ but I’d rather have that than Call of Duty any time.
The beauty of that Spectre range is that you can use it for a lot of different things.
true … and it’s only the rules that I’d have to worry about.
If I wasn’t into too many different genres already I’d probably do some proper research.
I suspect both Spectre and Skirmish Sangin are more focused on realistic side of moderns.
There’s Zona Alpha, but that’s more post apocalyptic.
Ideally I’d want something like Frostgrave for modern/near future setting.
A light roleplay aspect to allow for a mini campaign with progression and gear.
Am thinking of “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands” in tabletop format, but without the stupidity that infests the videogame.
It’s the weekend, sweet like candy.
Spectre models look really nice
Why does my brain twist and turn the Blue Planet review of storyline into a cross of Dances With Blue People (Avatar), the Gundam anime series (Unicorn and the original, notably) and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? Anyone still tracking with me will understand the pain of the moment I’m experiencing considering dolphins and whales in mechanized space suits engaging in intergalactic defense of Unobtanium.
They are making it hard to stay out of the new titanicas with these models….(looks forlornly at my original epic turtle back warlords) 🙁
Bit worried at Ben telling everyone to get their Coq out. Lockdown has finally got to him
Is that not how we measure cannon ranges?
I’m very much liking the Kromlech Dwarfs ?
They are very nice – I am eager to see what other elite elements they create.
not heard of the blue planet rpg. was slightly sad mr attenborough wasn’t mentioned!
I don’t think he was involved *looks shifty*
my word great prize great stuff
Gosh, those Spectre minis look amazing.
I am soooo curious to know what you all talked about regarding the set of world leaders miniatures that it required a near instant wipe and move on!
it was the game of execute or extract. I went for extract, execute, execute, execute and then run Kim on a treadmill until he was also dead.
Eeek!
I give it a week at most until Free receives a knitted beard from a community member.
