Face The Shadowcurse With Crippled God’s New Kickstarter!
October 16, 2024 by brennon
Crippled God Foundry are back on Kickstarter with an awesome campaign looking to introduce you to more Dark Fantasy adventures! Monster Slayers: Shadowcurse is a new module that is compatible with 5th Edition (and 5.5) and packed with miniatures.
Monster Slayers: Shadowcurse // Crippled God Foundry
The new set takes you deep into the Cursed Realm of Czessic and establishes the world lore to get your head around when diving in. You'll also find all the enemy statistics blocks, pre-made characters, new mechanics and more. You have been tasked with breaking the curse and slaying the monsters that dwell in the realm. A tall order!
Module & Maps // Crippled God Foundry
What's quite nice about the campaign from Crippled God is that the book and associated maps are available both digitally and physically. So, if you do a lot of roleplaying over the internet then you might just want the digital offerings. If you play in person, or just like the smell of new books, you might want to go that route.
"Of Pawns & Pieces" contains...
- A Stand-alone Adventure: Highly replayable and perfect for integration into your existing campaigns.
- Intricate Branching Narrative: Your choices make a direct impact and shape the outcome of the story.
- Dark Atmosphere: An unsettling mood and environment that will test your moral compass.
- New Creatures and Monsters: 2 new creature subtypes and more than 20 ready-to-use monsters.
- Unique Characters: 6 individual characters, each with their own compelling backstory.
- New Spells & Magical Items.
- Battlemaps: 5+ detailed battle maps for immersive encounters.
All that you need to run your campaign is included as part of the pack from Crippled God so as long as you've got your core rules and some friends you should be fine to dive in.
The Miniatures!
As well as the module itself, you can also get a whole bunch of 3D printable files (pre-supported) for you to print off representing characters, NPCs, villains, monsters and even terrain. All of this ties directly into the module above so you won't be wanting for miniatures to represent a particular encounter.
Ancient Ruins // Crippled God Foundry
The miniatures are tied to a location in the campaign and, as you can see, Crippled God has done some sterling work on these. This is their seventh campaign that they've done in this style and so they've learned what works.
Shadow Mountain // Crippled God Foundry
Each of the miniatures has been scaled to work with 28/32mm wargames, board games and tabletop roleplaying games so if you fancy using these in your armies as well as in your adventures, you will be in luck.
Cursed Swamps // Crippled God Foundry
Dread Plains // Crippled God Foundry
As well as the miniatures being available as 3D printable STL files, you can also get these miniatures as part of a physical bundle from Crippled God Foundry. This ties into one of the heftier pledge levels but if you're looking for a vast amount of Dark Fantasy miniatures in loads of different sizes, I think you're in luck.
Dark Forest // Crippled God Foundry
As well as the monsters for different encounters, you can also get your hands on some character miniatures that match up with classes for your roleplaying adventures. They too have been given a Dark Fantasy overhaul!
The Chosen // Crippled God Foundry
Some superb miniatures that look like they are going to be fun to paint! Break out the drybrush and do some dirty metal alongside deep purples and reds and maybe a splash of blood. Last but not least, you can also pick up a fantastic terrain set which helps to set the scene.
Terrain Pieces // Crippled God Foundry
If you like the look of these miniatures from Crippled God then you can check out some free samples from the team HERE. Two miniatures and a terrain piece are available for you to print so you can see if this campaign is for you.
The Core Set
Once you've tested all of that out, make sure to dive in and maybe snap up the Core Set?

The Chosen do have a very “Age of Sigmar” vibe to them I feel.
There are some nice miniatures, but most pledges are for 3d printer files and no use to me.
The physical pledge with minis is nearly £300 and that a lot more than I’m willing to pay, especially as I don’t play 5e.
The Chosen are too Age of Sigmar for me.
The rest look good, but nothing really makes me jump at them.
The terrain is the best part of this.
