July 24, 2020 by brennon
Para Bellum Wargames has fired up their pre-orders for their Start Playing Army Boxes which give you a quick and easy way to dive into playing Conquest: The Last Argument Of Kings. You get miniatures, accessories and paints to make it worth a shout!
The Hundred Kingdoms Start Playing Army // Conquest
Expand Your Conquest Army @ Store.OnTableTop
Each of the sets comes with three regiments plus a character appropriate for the faction. You will also get six Warcolours Paints, a DaVinci Artist Brush and twelve Oakie Doakie Dice which allow you to get gaming with your faction. You'll, of course, get all the cards you need to play your army too.
The Spires Start Playing Army // Conquest
These Start Playing bundles are limited in number so if you really do want one of these then you should consider going over and picking them up before they vanish. This could be the little nudge that you need to get into the game and then look at snapping up some expansions.
Dweghom Start Playing Army // Conquest
Nords Start Playing Army // Conquest
As a reminder in case you missed it above. These are available until stocks last and are limited in number. I think that these would be great for specifically Dweghom and Nords players who want to dive in and play games with the newer two armies in the collection. It's really neat that they come with the paints and a brush to get you going too; always a plus.
Are you going to be giving these Start Playing Army set a look?

Nice touch to include the paint and brush alongside the dice and nice selection of minis. I hope it draws in the sales for a talented studio
I hope it works out for them, but injecting a new mass-battles rank-&-flank minis game in 2020 is a tough proposition. I remember the core set price being cut fairly significantly last year & I still have yet to meet anyone who has got this one to the table yet. The world seems interesting & the sculpts are nice. Although $20 MSRP for one resin mini is a little steep. And the scale seems big (like heroic 32mm). Anyway, all the luck in the world, but I dunno.
starting a new anything is hard because you need a ton of luck to gain enough momentum to survive.
Never mind getting to the top 10 of whatever genre this game can fit in.
We’ve been playing oline with our Southampton group using an Excel game sim (basic)
But there are now 4 factions to play with on Auticus Table Top Simulator kn steam ?
the models are great but sadly 38mm (or 35?) they cannot be used in 28mm systems (there’s no way). And that’s a critical error imo. They will probably be OK with Fantasy Flight models though.
I got excited at the idea but when I looked at the boxes the models just don’t blow my skirt up, you know? I had in my head that they were really impressive but none of these are singing to me enough. Great idea though and a very nice touch to stick some paints in the boxes with the models
fabulous all in one boxes.
