As for the 3D scans, it’s totally possible but as Warren is suggesting has it’s limitations. Technical term we give it is Photogrammetry, it would be great for busts! Basically you just get a person, do a full scan and it’ll produce that photo-realistic look. It’s the kind of thing that if a company started off making busts in that way it could spark a pursuit of that kind of technology that would thereby enable them to create fully clothed poses etc. An added alternative could be that if you combined it with the likes of HeroForge and 3D scanned… Read more »
Sand tables have been around since almost the start of wargaming. It’s what they use at Sandhurst and Westpoint

About half way down the page is a photo of Donald Featherstone, and his sand table, the same image is used in Henry Hyde’s book the Wargaming Compendium on page 132.
I concur with @stainless001 , i really enjoy PoV. It is such a strong connection with your community, it shows you care and are invested not just in the hobby but also in the community that this hobby has and generates. Completely understand the time and effort that goes in to a weekly segment and that only makes what you do that much more important and that much more appreciated.
Thanks for another gud’un guys!
I’d be scared to 3D scan myself… I don’t want to fully understand my rotund-ness!
That’s why you then muck around with the scaling and turn yourself into a stick man. ?
But would it then be truely a representative of me?
Why, especially following @warzan ‘s impression was “images” of Hal, or Airplane 2 spring to mind… although in my case, the “what are you doing Dave” is too close to home!
lol…”I can’t let you make that roll Dave!” … i completely see it!
Am sure a recent opponent said that line to me!
If you’ve got a pinup of a scantily-clad female Commissar on your sheet at the end @warzan , you should really share with the class.
Although for the sake of fairness and equity, I hope you also have an equally scantily-clad male Commissar too. ?
an interesting video.
the customer pays.
doesn’t matter how you mark it up, break it down or budget. the customer always pays.
This is early for me, next time you guys are going to have bring me an Irish breakfast, c’mon I’m ready!
Kickstarter insurance sounds like a great idea. No mention of Kickstarter being a ‘non-profit’ company?
