Let’s Play Oak & Iron: English VS Spanish
November 27, 2019 by lloyd
Firelock Games Week continues as we take to the high seas for a game of Oak & Iron. Nate takes the Spanish to face a fleet of English ships with Mike at the helm. Who do you think will win this battle and sink there opponent's miniatures?
If Oak & Iron looks like it could be your next wargame check out our dedicated section to the game and the Firelock Games website.
Comment To Win!
By commenting on videos from this week you've got a chance to win 1 Of 3 Oak & Iron Core Box Sets.
We are going to be picking one winner from Youtube, one from OnTableTop and another one from amongst our Cult Of Games members so make sure you get involved across all avenues for your best chance to win.
What fleet do you think you will be collecting?
There’s a lot of rigging missing! XD
That makes it easier to unplug a mast and lay it across the beam when a ship takes damage!
But with these ships being 1/600, (larger in scale than another company’s ships that seems to have copied Firelock’s game idea), it is possible to add that rigging if you want! ??
well the game idea has been around a bit longer 😉 I recall at least one pocket model game by wizkids 😉
Decades one could say
How many of the tokens are final versions? Wake. fire and movement rulers are they all final versions?
Cant wait to get to paint my ships into Royal Swedish Coastal Fleet…
That is, when my pledge arrives!
How does this compare to similar games for rules and miniature range?
Oh baby! I’ve been waiting to see my English fleet in action in Oak and Iron. Love the Let’s Plays! I can’t wait to get my hands on my Admira’s Pledge. Of course, I do hope that I’m still in the running to possible win one of the Core boxes in the give away! I’d use that as a grand prize and run a small tournament in my little town to draw out folks to try this great game. It’s one way to find players to engage in some continuous game play week to week. It may be time to… Read more »
Game is really looking good from prototype and looks to play smoothly. May convince me to get a big enough space to play it on.
Probably English, but leaving flexibility to play others.
I have to say the game look pretty cool. I know right now (and I hate to say this), but my local gaming group hasn’t decided between this and Black Seas. I think (And hope) with this playthrough that they go with Oak and Iron.
This cannot get here fast enough
So I here you can play Pirates in this? I would totally go pirate and take on all those royalist spittle-lickers. Huzzah!
(That and playing as the English in England… seems like it would be harder to get a game)
So stoked for this game. Loving Blood & Plunder, and this is a great way to finally get a true fleet on the table (me being Dutch, that would be Piet Hein or Michiel de Ruyter)!
every time I see playthroughs of this it makes me more excited to get my Kickstarter pledge. I cant wait to have a tie in with blood and plunder.
Awesome let’s play video.. a ton of fun… can’t wait for my set to arrive !!
This looks like a great game.
I can’t believe on all the severe crits in that battle! Fun to watch, but it’ll be even better to play!
Love the ships 🙂 The scale works really well for the time period.
Just bought Black Seas, so interested to see how this differs.
Looking forward to this!
Loving the look and feel of the game…and it should be possible to mesh O&I with B&P to produce campaign play over a large area
Looks like a fun game.
The game looks awesome. I’m hoping to eventually get this and run it in a campaign alongside Blood & Plunder. I missed the Kickstarter so I’m hoping this comes out soon!
a great player video guys.
This looks so promising!
I can’t wait to play this game!
Like everything Firelock games is putting out, O&I looks like an amazing game.
