Mythic Games – The Artwork Behind Joan Of Arc
August 31, 2017 by brennon
Léo has something special to show us from behind the scenes of Joan of Arc. The artwork seen from Joan of Arc has been miraculous and always blows us away from the moment we see it for ourselves.
In this video, I'm diving into the deep end of Joan of Arc to see who the artists are behind the works and what we can expect for the future of Joan of Arc from Mythic Games.
What's your favourite piece of artwork?
Hi Warren
I saw a program can’t remember the name that said in the 40 seconds it took the French knights to charge acoss rge ground between the Armies at he battle of Crecy the English and Welsh Longbow men would have let loose 96,000 arrows
Very beautiful art, they are so full of live.
I love how the minis resemble the art also.
Any idea how many minis will be in the game.
Because at 15mm you would be able to play very big games.
I believe the core box is 230 minis
My goodness, this looks so great. Love the concept, and the art and miniatures so far look wonderful. I think the army of hell is going to be popular! Love the mix of real history and the supernatural. I hope that the full battle rules work well, as I think that’s what appeals to me most. I heard somewhere you get around 200 miniatures in the box, before stretch goals (I might be wrong about that). I’m almost afraid of what add ons they will offer, as I’m going to want them all. Dragon, yes please. Castle and siege equipment,… Read more »
@fiore you are not the only one. I am most likely going all in and I have seen comments on other posts telling the same thing.
Hell gets all the best toys.
Leo – the Vertical Hair is magnificent Iand HUGE at 15mm scale) 🙂 The incredible artwork and stunning minis are winners; the range of dynamics and events (weather influencing!!!) just adds to the rich tapestry. Warren looked like he was peeing himself with excitement. I know I was…. Please, please bring that magnificent dragon in to show it to the BOW team – I have been admiring many images of it from Gencon – it is a masterpiece. I want add-on packs for more troops so the massed battles rules can really be absolute thundering great events. I look forward… Read more »
This game looks too amazing to miss. I like the flair of mixing history and mythology that Mythic seems to push towards in their games.
I hope it’s possible in the rule set to tailor the game towards either completely historical (English versus French, and not much else) or going fully apocalyptic (angels versus demons with some tiny humans squeezed in between).
Leo has said in interviews that you can definitely play straight-up historical battles with it 🙂
great video, thanks guys!
There’s loads of great chivalric stories from this period that would be fun to squeeze onto the tabletop. Here’s one: King John of Bohemia fought at the battle of Crecy in 1346, despite being 50 and BLIND! Chivalry compelled him to want to strike at least one blow, so he had his closest knights tie the reins of their horses to his so they could lead him forward. He struck his blow and was inevitably killed. The legend was that the Black Prince (16 at the time, fighting his first battle, on the other side under the command of his… Read more »
Absolutely beautiful game! I saw it at Gen Con and was blown away!!!
This game is just looking better and better!
Did I hear Leo say that they wanted to make decals for the shields?! I think that I might have shrieked like a little girl when he mentioned that!
Who needs puny human armies when you’ve got a dragon ?
I wonder if a dragon vs dragon scenario could work … because we all know we want more dragon.

Very cool, does anyone know when we can get this game? Will there be a Kickstarter?
The Kickstarter campaign starts on October 10th 🙂
exceptional choice in art direction with stunning results . as important to me as miniatures, setting and rules.
the game is shaping up to be genuinely ground breaking and anything less than fantastic art would have been a crime.
Yeah, transfer decals are the only way I would ever get the shields to look as good as those on the miniatures. However, I believe I can handle that triangle.
Great choice in artists for this. The guy really knows his history/lore as well it seems, so that’s a huge plus as well. Can’t wait.
Artwork is incredible, I maybe tempted to break my break from Kickstarter just for this.
While 15ml is not a scale I am fond of there more I see and hear about this game in terms of art, painted miniatures, game play, and the ideas the guys at Mythic have for it the more I start warming to the idea of 15ml. Another thing that is compelling me to pledge when the Kickstarter begins is the standard of excellence with which Mythic Battles: Pantheon was and is being run. The level of interaction with the backer community both during and after the funding period for MB:P unquestionably set the standard for how a Kickstarter should… Read more »
Well I’ll be honest, when first time heard about jean of arc, donot caught my attention not to familiar with 100year wars, but sometimes later start to read about and saw some more info about the game, the minis the board, the dragon, and even on 15mm I get stuck with the quality on sculpts so changed my opinion and attracts my interest. The spears the huge dragon and hype grows. Finaly you gonna release a game with awesome mix of mechanisms, card related, risks, weather… good-evil with an extra detail on the era perception of things, so bravo guys… Read more »
The apears
Also lovely quality artwork as per your previous games too.
This going to be epic. 🙂
Love this game! All elements seem just soo good! I really like the skirmish part of this game…small playboard, story driven investigation game mode…so far so good…could we get more info on the Big Battle Mode??.. …Is that also played out on hex-based maps or normal battle boards…and how large are these meant to be?…Are the rank and file models meant to be mounted on round bases with three models apiece and does this carries over into Big Battle mode? Would love to make a very big battle within this setting compromising of big regiments of knights, archers, crossbowmen, billmen!!…maybe… Read more »
