You have buckets and buckets of bitz?!?! That’s an entire bitz studio!! I am definitely finding a way to get over there and
raid, errr…. visit you now!! 😛 😛 😛Everything is a bit that is usable in a conversion, mate. All it takes is a hoarder like Lloyd (or me) to recognise the value in stuff that other people think is junk 🙂
Oh, I have quite a hoard of bitz myself, but I haven’t had whole shrink-wrapped boxes eligible for looting since way back in the Days Of High Adventure when I had a Bitz Apartment. There were clear paths through rooms and everywhere else was stacked waist-high with modeling stuff. It was awesome af
And at 22:48, a mystery piece of paper towel suddenly appears on my finger. In case you are wondering: this is the place where I seriously sliced my finger and it wouldn’t stop bleeding. The show must go on!
Also: be careful with knives, kids. They hurt!
Editing is fun…
blood for the modelers God?
Oh hell yes. Every time I come over to film, I manage to cut myself at least once. I think has at least half an hour of me bleeding all over the studio cut out of these tutorials.
you should ask warren for hazard pay?
Being a hazard to yourself doesn’t count. 😉 😛
Very true I have many myself. Some from work buy many small one’s from modeling.
Wasn’t superglue invented for that purpose ?
Or is that a myth ?
I blame the British knives … they’re always sharp at the wrong end 😉
Cyanoacrylate was used in Vietnam for this purpose but was never approved to be sold as a medical glue due to it being an irritant and also the reaction is exothermic. I have read a couple of different accounts of how it was discovered including that it was discovered by Kodak while investigating ways to use acrylics in gun sights. (I had previously read or been told it was used in WW2 and had been invented to for battlefield wounds but I don’t think it is true)
Trust me. I have done quite a few ‘field repairs’ with superglue. Both at home and in the studio. The bandage is there in case it still opens. Heavy knife wielding (and the pressure it gives on the skin) is bad for recently glued wounds.
Also: DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME, KIDS. Supergluing wounds can be dangerous.
nice love your stuff
“Click here to watch the series” …. not clickable XD
First part of the series, so far 😉
But it’s from 2016… or do I miss something? Is this a re-upload? I’m genuinely confused right now.
It’s a conversion that I did back in 2016. I did the modelling and the idea was that John would do the painting. John just has been swamped with other projects in the meantime, so that’s why this is aired now in 2019. It has me hoping that John finally found the time to do an amazing paint job on it.
Aaaah…. the mist of confusion is lifting XD Thanks mate.
should this not be the tune for the start of the video guys?

this is going to be a great base for the gallion to tower over every thing.
I’ve never used that type of foam before, can you sand it?
You can, quite easily. I used to make prototypes out of it back in school. There’s different types (blue, yellow, orange,…) Some are bit harder, some are a bit softer. This yellow foam is quite hard. You can cut it, sand it, fill it with a water-based filler and glue it with water-based glues. There is a bit of a foamy texture to it (really small airholes) so it is well suited for walls and terrain, but less suited for miniatures and tiny details.
Many thanks for such a comprehensive answer.
Excellent as always, can’t wait for part two.
I love Thomas videos, always enjoyable to watch and great to pick up some tips. Looking forward to seeing part II
