Mantic are closing in on the final few days of their Kickstarter for Warpath 2.0 and it has been quite the frenetic campaign with a whole bunch of new factions entering the mix. With this in mind we'll take a look at two of the new sets coming out for the Corporation if they can hit those last stretch goals...

Corporation Specialists

First up we have the Corporation GCPS Troopers who are the ones who get stuck in behind enemy lines and take out key strategic points with a little bit of guile and subtlety compared to the hammer and anvil tactics of their Enforcer brothers.

Corporation Ranger

I like the design of their armour and weapons which have a big hefty weight to them. They seem like they'd make satisfying sounds in battle, a bit like the pulse rifles from Alien used by the marines.

The Corporation are also getting some rather dangerous looking variants of the Strider Mech with the Ajax Siege Strider. See what you think of it...

Ajax Siege Strider

So, if you thought that a big 'chainsaw' wasn't going to be helpful on the battlefield then a huge siege spear certainly is. It punches holes in all sorts of vehicles and fortifications.

A Workhorse

If you're looking for a vehicle to get your Rangers into the middle of the action then see what you make of the concept designs for the Mule which is a probably going to be quite useful for delivering your soldiers into the heart of the action and providing some covering fire while doing so.

Corporation Mule

Once again the design is robust and hefty, giving weight to this style of building vehicles and weaponry with function in mind over style. It also has something of the Warthog from Halo about it so it gets a big thumbs up from me there too.

Alien Invaders

The last faction to be added to the list of armies were of course the Asterians and if you were wondering about them as a faction we've got some of the wonderful artwork and concept designs that have come up surrounding the faction to check out...

Asterian Artwork

The artwork focuses in on the main bulk of the Asterian army which is robotic in nature. Why enter battle themselves when they can send these deadly looking machines to do the work for them?

You can see how this has progressed over into the renders for the army which are all looking very cool indeed. If you liked the aesthetic of the Geth from Mass Effect then I imagine these are going to appeal to you as an army.

Asterian Infantry

I could see you using different lights for the eyes to symbolise different squads and then maybe going as far as to work on some ways to work battle damage into their mechanical frames.

If you want some support in a fire fight then the Asterians can also call upon these Gun Turrets which are deployed alongside their robotic soldiers.

Asterian Turret Design

You can see how they come together as a set here where the components are displayed. What is good about the set is that it looks like you're going to get some nice options for posing the Asterians although it is a shame that the legs and bodies are going to be connected.

Asterian Components

Away from that though the Asterians are looking a lot cooler as a faction that I would have first thought. I was never sold on them in Deadzone but this new set is certainly making me think differently about them. I think that's actually the case for a lot of the factions now they're getting these hard plastic kits.

Last but not least don't forget to go and check out some fiction on the game of Warzone with Ghosts Of The Past which spans six chapters and an epilogue over on the Mantic website. It's well worth reading to get immersed in the world of Warpath.

Have you pledged for this campaign?
