TERMINATOR QUICK REFERENCE DOWNLOAD
We sat down for a Live Hangout Chat with Alessio Cavatore of River Horse to talk about the Terminator Genisys Miniatures Game AND his new Waterloo game...
Terminator Genisys
Terminator Genisys is coming very soon to movie theatres and of course to the tabletop. We'll be talking to him about the game as it is now, delving into the mechanics and hearing about what the future holds.
If you like to watch the first Hang Out we had with Alessio about the game then you can check it out HERE. Of course remember that if you have any questions you want to ask you can include them in the comments below and we'll see about putting them to the man himself.
Waterloo
As well as Terminator we'll be talking to Alessio about his new Waterloo game that will be coming out in the future too. As you know we have quite the love for Napoleonic era warfare here at Beasts of War and Warren especially has been excited about Waterloo for a while.
Hopefully we'll be able to delve deep into the game and find out more about what's around the corner. Watch the video above here on Beasts of War to find out more.
What would you like to know?

last chat Alessio said he was after another license when he was offered Terminator. Can you ask him about that, is it Warriors, are they coming out to play???
A warriors game designed by the last of an ancient breed?
You would have no where to run from such a franchise.
Might be worth a night run in the city.
Got that other license too, but that’s a story for 2016!
Bow Standard Time?
What’s the weirdest idea that came up during production but didn’t ultimately make it into the game?
We initially allowed humans to freely have ‘friendly metal’ (reprogrammed termies) and the machines to have human collaborators…. But the fact both sides could then have infiltrators, which look like humans but are machines, made it a bit too much of a brain-£&@&£.
We have left that concept in as a suggestion for optional rule with both players agreeing!
Does he anticipate any more ‘film-franchised’ games on the horizon?
Nick
Yes.
Where will Bolt Sction head once they have gone through all the different theatres of war?
We have a few more supplements up our sleeves… And then….
Has River Horse ever considered using kickstarter/crowd funding to take any of their games systems further (eg. TG and some of the bigger terminator vehicle & airships from Salvation?)
Sure. But one has to be very careful – large corporation don’t like the risk and feel of crowd funding. Some actually forbid it altogether.
game of thrones table top game in some form or another?????
That’d be nice…
Alessio is top class. Very entertaining in the most possitive of ways. He handled the “one man show ” Very well. 🙂
Thanks for the very nice words!
It was quite weird that black out, as I was not sure whether I was still live or not… Clearly Skynet was trying to shut us down!!!
Wow! Live hangout with Alessio is like having a live hang out with the God of War!
What happened to the power – did Lloydy throw the trip switch? Did Alessio arrange for him to do it so he could finally keep Warren quiet and get a word in edgeways? Or did Warren forget to pay the electricity bill again and spend the money on minis instead?
Stay tuned and find out in next week’s exciting episode….
God of War?!?! Wow, cool…
The power… I think it was Skynet’s doing…
Question for Alessio with regards Terminator. Are you going to keep it strictly as a compartmentalised type game, on a fairly small gaming area and with a fairly tight set of minis and rules, or would you consider doing what Mantic Games did with Deadzone and Warpath; i.e. you keep the game in its current form like a starter type quick play, possibly introduction to the Terminator universe game, but later produce a seperate set of rules to allow for a much bigger table top Warpath type game using the same concept and minis?
The rules for Terminator work on a small 3’x2′ board… or on any gaming table, like 4’x4′ or 6’x4’… same rules.
Of course if things went really well, in the future editions of the game, we might have a ‘large battles’ version, with squads instead of single models (and maybe a different scale?) who knows… it’s early days though.. let’s first learn to walk before we talk about flying!
That was very enjoyable, particularly the Waterloo section, it’s always good to hear from Alessio.
It would be great if you could give a bit more notice of these hangouts since I’d like to be around for the live audience.
Great to see Beasts of War doing so well in 2015. All your hard work is paying off.
There’s money in War, just not in wargaming. I must remember that quote
Nothing to do with ABBA and 1974 then? 🙂
