Let’s Play: World War Zero – Battle Of Quebec
February 11, 2019 by dignity
Today Justin and Gerry face off on the epic battle of World War Zero: Battle of Quebec with game designer, Cad from 4Ground.

The guys are travelling back to 13th September 1759, on the Plains of Abraham before the city of Quebec, this pivotal battle in the Anglo-French conflict lasted less than an hour. Clearly Gerry and Justin aren't as quick as their historical counterparts.
How would you turn the tide of battle on the tabletop?

Not the Battle of Quebec I was thinking of
were you thinking of the war of independance battle of Quebec?
I havent starting watching it yet but the blurb says 1775 not 1759 Plains of Abraham General Wolfe etc
@torros It is the Plains of Abraham someone messed up the description
Cheers
Hey, i work in Quebec…..i will see what happens. I can tell you the winner…..
I suggest you close the windows
Just a heads up the Description is wrong this is the Battle of the Plains of Abraham which took place on 13 September 1759 between General Wolfe and General Montcalm (both of them died, shocking I know that a General would die in the French Indian War) just outside Quebec.
It appears to be corrected
Apologies, I’m not good at history. I researched the wrong battle.
Looking good. Liking it more with the larger armies. I would suggest numbering the commanders and placing a corresponding token behind each unit in their group, so its easier to see who has control over stuff. Looking forward to this game.
This is coming along nicely. I hope there’s a Let’s Play for one of the larger European battles in the works. With my limited space, I would probably have to drop down to 6mm to try one myself. But FIW works great as is.
Description has been changed!
Great video guys. I hope you have a lot more
By the time @avernos rolls his first dice the real battle had been over for about 10 minutes. 🙂
Watched a bit more. Not entirely convinced about how much the artillery can move. Small calibre cannon would stay close to their battalion for safety purposes as much as anything else and in a game this game is representing wouldn’t just an extra factor add to the battalion s firing strength be more appropriate? and the bigger calibres would usually be too heavy to move during the battle and too hard to organise the movement. Even 100 years later in the ACW a guns artillery train would stretch about 250 yards behind the gun
the battle of Quebec was fought on ice, the Montreal canadians vs the quebec nordiques on new years eve. it was a brutal slugfest and required watching for all hockey fans.
to be continued da da daaa.
The more I see of these games the more that I like the mechanics.
Would have liked to see the game end (rather than Justin just quitting), as Cad said the odds may have been against him, but he could have turned it around (it’s all down to the Dice Gods). But then I suppose the video was over an hour long 🙁
makes me want to get 10mm
