Let’s Play – Warforged: First Contact
April 17, 2017 by dignity
Join Justin and Andy Chambers John (oops The likeness is uncanny!) as they play through the new game, Warforged: First Contact by Reforged Studios which will be coming to kickstarter soon!
The Iron Legion forces are clashing with the Mantra around a sacred shrine. One side is trying to repel human invaders whilst the other is trying to take control of the vast alien network of gateways leading to new worlds.
Let us know what you think of the gamplay and who you reckon is going to win!
Drop your thoughts below...
@brennon @dignity Andy Chambers looks more like @johnlyons every day – it’s uncanny – or perhaps someone needs to update the description 😉
I was painting during the Weekender this was on, so didn’t pay a huge amount of attention to the minis. I remember liking the gribblies, not a clue about the humans though. The game itself looks great. I’ll have to have another look at the minis.
I will never be able to say discant now without thinking of this movie https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gcKLnsqal3s 🙂 The game looks real fun and nice n’ quick too.
The game looks quick, miniature count low-ish and the variability of the turn advancement is interesting. The name is Discant? As in “dis can’t do that and dis can’t do this”? Or is it old English for the past tense of discount?
It should be “descant”, following the musical theme of the names of the Mantra models.
John you could have ended the game a turn or two sooner if you would have moved in for the kill when you had the chance.
“Dice” is plural
“Die” is singular
You can’t get into it, because dice are too small for that. 😛
“Dice” is also a valid singular form of the plural “dice”.
Sadly that’s right, I got my Shadow Wars: Amageddon book today and GW uses dice for singular in that book and to me that feels so strange.
Looks like a fun little game, that’s quite easy to take along with you.
Rock, Scissors, Wizards (I dont know if it the right name) was a interesting card game but with the miniatures.
The loves/hated GW returns to contact with the community. It’s a shame they kill Warhammer.
Sorry. I want to write this in weekender section. Forget what I wrote.
Its not for me…………
I hadn’t realized the game is played on hexes during the interview. Are all the scenarios using these narrow paths, or are there also open battlefields? It feels kind of Space Hulky with a bit more maneuverability.
